  • Macy’s to launch online fashion competition show

    New York -- Macy’s and Maker Studios, the world’s largest producer and distributor of online video content for Millennials, announced a collaboration to launch an original fashion-lifestyle series, to be called “The Next Style Star.” The program will feature 16 up-and-coming stylists battling head-to-head for a $10,000 cash prize, a chance to serve as a guest stylist on an upcoming Macy’s photo shoot, and have his or her winning look featured in the Impulse Department at Macy’s Herald Square in New York City.

  • Online retailer BaubleBar sets up shop in Nordstrom

    New York -- Online jewelry retailer BaubleBar on Monday opened 35 pop-up shops in select Nordstrom locations. The ‘Nordstrom Loves BaubleBar’ pop-up features new and exclusive items from brand, with the collection priced between $24 and $68.

  • Uniqlo’s Manhattan flagship partners with Starbucks, Museum of Modern Art

    New York -- The second floor of Uniqlo’s Fifth Avenue flagship in Manhattan has been transformed in conjunction with the launch of the retailer’s SPRZ NY collection, done in collaboration with the Museum of Modern Art. The renovated floor includes the addition of a full-service Starbucks (a first for Uniqlo).

  • H&M opens first store in Hawaii

    New York -- H & M, Hennes & Mauritz AB opens its first Hawaii store in Waikiki on March 28. The store features a one-of-a-kind installation featuring artwork of local surf photographers Mike Coots, Sarah Lee and Zak Noyle.

    The Waikiki store has hired 160 local employees.

    Hoffman Estates, Ill. – Sears is launching Now + Here, a fast fashion shop available in Sears stores across the country, on Sears.com and Shopyourway.com, in the second week of April. The Now + Here shops offer a new shop environment with monthly deliveries.

    The fully integrated retail experience extends online with access to exclusive content, including behind the scenes videos and fashion tips.

    A week after it divested Lands’ End, Sears announced plans to launch Now + Here, a fast fashion shop available in Sears stores across the country, on Sears.com and Shopyourway.com, the second week of April. The Now + Here shops offer a new shop environment with monthly deliveries.

    The move comes as the company continues to transform into a member-centric retailer leveraging Shop Your Way and integrated retail.

  • Loblaw cuts cheese in record-setting effort

    More than 360 select Loblaw banner stores across Canada nabbed the world record for the most wheels of Parmigiano Reggiano cheese cracked simultaneously, as declared by a Guinness World Records adjudicator. Officially, 1,008 wheels were cracked in more than 360 Loblaw banner stores simultaneously across Canada.
