  • Simon: Second Premium Outlet Center will open in Canada

    Indianapolis -- Simon Property Group, along with Calloway REIT and SmartCentres, have announced plans to develop their second Premium Outlet Center in Canada. 

    The center will be located in the Town of Mirabel, Quebec, approximately 20 miles north of Montreal.  The project, called Montreal Premium Outlets, is a joint venture between Simon, Calloway and SmartCentres. Simon will own 50% of the project.

  • Davaco expands operations into Canada

    Dallas -- Davaco announced that the company has set up an operational division in Canada that can support global consumer brands with multi-unit programs in every province throughout Canada.

    Davaco established its office near Toronto in 2011 to service immediate client needs, and is now available to provide services for additional clients in the growing Canadian marketplace.

  • Sam Walton display recieves $1 million for renovation

    Walmart and the Walton Family Charitable Support Foundation have teamed up to donate $1 million to fund the renovation and expansion of the current Sam M. Walton College of Business display, honoring Walmart’s founder, Sam Walton. Each organization donated $500,000 to update the display in the Business Administration Building on the University of Arkansas campus. 

  • Albertsons leverages QR codes to help consumers perfect steak grilling

    Boise, Idaho — Albertson’s LLC has implemented an in-store program that will allow customers to scan a QR code using their smartphones to access recipes with tips for grilling Steakhouse Choice cuts of meat.


  • Food Lion raises more than $500K for Hunger Has a Cure campaign

    Salisbury, N.C. — Food Lion announced the results of its two-week Hunger Has a Cure campaign.

    The campaign, which ran April 4 to April 17, raised more than $500,000, which will support Feeding America's network of local food banks. Feeding America will use the funds to provide 3.7 million meals to those in need. As part of the campaign, customers were given the opportunity to donate $1, $3 or any other amount of their choice at checkout.

  • Target accelerates NASCAR presence

    NASCAR fans will become very familiar with Target, if they aren't already, as the retailer plans to expand its presence in NASCAR during the Sprint All-Star and Coca Cola 600 race weeks. In addition to being the presenting sponsor of the Blake Shelton pre-race concert, Target will have nine branded race carts providing samples of their grocery items in the campgrounds surrounding Charlotte Motor Speedway, a Target Taste Wagon as well as a Target Shuttle that will provide fans transportation to the Target in Kannapolis, N.C.
