  • Aéropostale to offer exclusive Battleship, G.I. Joe apparel

    Hasbro has partnered with teen retailer Aéropostale for an exclusive line featuring the Battleship and G.I. Joe brands.

    The line will include men's graphic t-shirts featuring Battleship and G.I. Joe images ahead of the debuts of "Battleship" on May 18 and "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" on June 29.

  • Westfield introduces style lounge and personal stylists on demand

    Los Angeles -- Westfield announced that its Westfield Style fashion program is launching personal styling services on demand at select Westfield centers in May. 

    The focal point of the new offering is the Westfield Style Lounge, a dedicated space in the mall where professional stylists will provide free personalized style consultations for shoppers. Additionally, shoppers can get advice on demand right from their mobile phone via the new Ask A Stylist service. Shoppers e-mail a photo of their look to the on-call stylist for an instant response.

    CHICAGO — Consumers’ confidence in their personal finances is returning to levels seen in first quarter 2011, according to SymphonyIRI Group’s latest MarketPulse survey, released Friday. But while confidence remains high, the same consumers remain frugal.

  • Visual merchandising firm sues J.C. Penney

    New York -- Hudson + Broad, a New York City-based visual merchandising firm, is suing J.C. Penney Co. for $40 million. H+B is seeking $20 million in compensatory damages and an additional $20 million in punitive damages.

  • Medicine Bow Furnishings opens at Promenade Shops at Centerra

    Loveland, Colo. -- The Promenade Shops at Centerra, located in Loveland, Colo., announced that Medicine Bow Furnishings has opened a new store at the south end of the center, across from Barnes & Noble.

    The Promenade Shops at Centerra features over 72 shopping, dining and entertainment destinations.
     

  • Republic of Couture to open at Delray Marketplace

    Delray Beach, Fla. -- Indianapolis-based Kite Realty Group said Thursday that Republic of Couture will open an 8,000-sq.-ft. store at Delray Marketplace, located in Delray Beach, Fla. The new store is slated to open in November.

    Delray Marketplace is a 270,000-sq.-ft. center anchored by Franks Theatres, Max’s Grille and Publix.

  • Double-digit comps boost Tractor Supply in Q1

    The Brentwood, Tenn.-based farm and ranch retailer saw same-store sales increase 11.5% in the first quarter ended March 31. Net sales increased 22% to $1.02 billion.

    Net income for the quarter was $40.3 million, compared to net income of $18.3 million in the same quarter last year.
