  • Skechers USA says Reebok is stepping on its toes

    Skechers USA has filed a lawsuit against Reebok International for selling footwear that, according to Skechers, infringes on its Go Walk product line.

    The suit, filed in the United States District Court for the Central District of California, seeks compensatory and punitive damages as well as injunctive relief for infringing on Skechers’ patent and trade dress rights and for unfair competition. The suit states that Reebok is selling the infringing products under the name Reebok Walk Ahead RS.

  • Macerich and HGTV prep holiday marketing effort

    Santa Monica, Calif. — Macerich is collaborating with HGTV, a home and lifestyle cable network, to create Santa HQ, an interactive holiday experience, at 10 Macerich malls. The initiative aims to add digital and social media to the traditional holiday experience of visiting Santa.

  • Visit Peru at the mall in Short Hills, N.J.

    Short Hills, N.J. — Visit Machu Picchu in Peru at The Mall at Short Hills this summer. In partnership with PromPeru: The Commission on the Promotion of Peru for Export and Tourism, The Mall at Short Hills will feature Peru-themed promotions from June 13 through July 10.

    Highlights include:

    An interactive exhibit of Machu Picchu: The centerpiece of the effort is a 20 X 30 ft. exhibit of the fabled Machu Picchu, the Incan citadel named one of the New Seven Wonders of the World in a 2007 international Internet poll.

  • BJ's Wholesale expands advertising relationship with IZ-ON Media

    BJ's Wholesale Club has renewed and expanded its in-Club advertising contract with IZ-ON Media, a digital media company specializing in in-store shopper marketing services.

    For the past three years, IZ-ON Media has provided content programming and delivery, network operations and advertising sales for the BJ's HDTV Network. According to the renewed and expanded deal’s terms, IZ-ON Media will also represent the BJ's In-Club Radio Network.

  • M-A-C Cosmetics leases Manhattan location

    New York — M-A-C Cosmetics has signed a long-term lease at 853 Broadway in Manhattan’s Union Square, according to The Feil Organization, the building’s owner and manager. RKF represented M-A-C in the lease negotiations. The retailer plans to open in time for the 2014 holiday shopping season.

    M-A-C will occupy a space on the ground floor and project a two-level storefront plus 14 ft. of frontage along 14th Street, giving it excellent visibility.

  • Garden Ridge rebranding to At Home

    The coming months will see the name “At Home” popping up on 71 Garden Ridge stores in 21 states as the home décor store undergoes a significant rebranding and remerchandising initiative.

  • Garden Ridge to rebrand stores to At Home

    Plano, Texas -- Garden Ridge announced that it is investing $20 million to rebrand all of its stores to the At Home brand.

    "Our new name, At Home, better reflects our company's home décor heritage, as well as our aspirations for the future. By aligning our in-store transformation and merchandise offerings, the new brand best positions us to succeed as we move forward with our expansion strategy," said CEO Lee Bird.

  • 7UP continues #7x7UP at EDC Las Vegas

    7UP is working to make the Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas an experience for attendees and those who won’t be at the three-day concert that starts on June 20.

    At the electric music festival, the beverage brand will be hosting the fourth of seven concerts organized through its #7x7UP social media campaign with Stage 7, which will showcase up-and-coming electric artists all weekend. Most notably, the #7x7UP campaign has featured a partnership with well-known DJ, Tiësto, whose 7UP-sponsored album release party was held on June 17 at Terminal 5 in New York.
