    PHOENIX — PetSmart is leveraging Facebook to drive sales of pet costumes, as well as Halloween-themed accessories, toys and treats. 

    The retailer will be stocked with everything from pumpkin and witch costumes for guinea pigs to a whole assortment of costumes for dogs that include bandanas, hair bows and angel wings and exclusive character costumes from Disney, Martha Stewart Pets, DC Comics, Marvel and Peanuts.

    FREEPORT, Maine — L.L.Bean has introduced the One Fund Boston Tote made from the tarp used to protect the Fenway Park infield during its 100th anniversary in 2012.

    The limited edition version of the company’s signature tote celebrates the spirit of Boston and its people, with 100% of the profits going to The One Fund Boston.

  • Dunkin’ Donuts opens on Kansas Turnpike

    Canton, Mass. -- Dunkin’ Donuts continues its growth in non-traditional locations with the opening of two locations on the Kansas Turnpike with franchisee Rosenfield Restaurants. A third is scheduled to debut in October.

    “Bringing Dunkin' Donuts to service plazas around the country is just one great example of how our brand is taking successful elements of our traditional locations and translating them into alternative points of distribution,” said Grant Benson, VP of franchising and business development, Dunkin' Brands.

  • PREIT: Matching Mall And Grocer

    Turns out, malls and grocers were made for each other.

    A few years ago, Philadelphia-based Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust (PREIT) renovated Plymouth Meeting Mall in Philadelphia’s northwestern suburbs.

    The renovation replaced an old Ikea on the site with a lifestyle component called Plymouth Meeting Mall’s Plaza Shops, which leads customers to the mall entrance.

    PREIT brought in a 65,000-sq.-ft. Whole Foods Market as the anchor.
