  • Ulta Beauty delivers in third quarter

    Ulta Beauty posted strong double-digit gains during its third quarter thanks in part to strength in sales of prestige cosmetics and skin care and strong online sales.

    Sales for the quarter ended Oct. 27 rose 22.4% to $618.8 million. Same-store sales rose 6.8%, including the impact of e-commerce sales.

    Net income increased 19.1% to $45.4 million compared with $38.2 million. Income per diluted share rose 18.6% to 70 cents per share, including 2 cents per diluted share related to a severance charge.

  • Online retailer Respect Your Universe to open its first store

    Portland, Ore. – The online active lifestyle apparel retailer Respect Your Universe has signed a five year lease with General Growth Properties Inc. to open its initial flagship store in downtown Seattle at Westlake Center. The retailer has partnered with Los Angeles-based architect and retail strategist Richard Altuna to design the 2,082-sq.-ft. flagship store.

  • Green Mountain Coffee Roasters introduces college-branded Keurig brewers

    Green Mountain Coffee Roasters has rolled out college-branded Keurig K-Cup Mini Plus brewers, giving students and alumni even more reason to cheer during their daily coffee break.

    “Our new collegiate collection of Keurig single cup brewers is a fun, creative way to allow passionate Keurig consumers to showcase their school spirit while enjoying the great variety of Keurig Brewed beverage,” Dwight Brown, SVP marketing, GMCR said.

  • Survey: Nine-in-10 holiday shoppers not finished

    Austin, Texas – Nine-in-10 (87%) holiday shoppers surveyed still have presents to buy. Recent surveys by RetailMeNot and The Omnibus Company found that nearly 200 million Americans have not completed their holiday shopping.

    Nearly nine-in-10 (88%) winter holiday shoppers surveyed said they have had to buy gifts in the 11th hour. Parents seem to be the biggest procrastinators, as nearly all (95%) parents surveyed admitted to waiting until the last minute to buy holiday gifts.

  • Krispy Kreme opens first Taiwan store Dec. 12

    Winston-Salem, N.C. -- Krispy Kreme plans to open its first store in Taiwan on Dec. 12. The new 2,400-sq.-ft. store will be located in Taipei and is the first of 10 planned Krispy Kreme stores in Taiwan during the next five years by Krispy Kreme's new franchise partner, Huan Hsin Co., Ltd.

    The opening was initially announced to fans of the Krispy Kreme Taiwan Facebook page, and the retailer is giving away more than 10,000 dozen doughnuts at local events throughout Taipei.

  • The Wet Seal launches branded TV series on YouTube

    Foothill Ranch, Calif. -- The Wet Seal announced a partnership with AwesomenessTV on reality series, "The Intern." AwesomenessTV, one of the most subscribed to video destinations for teens on YouTube, debuted the series on Nov. 25 and will air four weekly installments throughout the month of December.

  • Chris Paul, Blake Griffin featured in new Foot Locker commercial

    Foot Locker has unveiled its latest national advertising spot to promote the newest footwear and apparel from Kids Foot Locker this holiday season. The commercial features Los Angeles Clippers Chris Paul and Blake Griffin, along with Chris Paul's son. 

  • Jared returns to social media for holiday sweepstakes

    Jared is launching its "12 Days of Giveaways" sweepstakes for Facebook fans and Twitter followers now through Dec. 13. The campaign, introduced last year, gives customers the chance to enter to win daily prizes featuring brands available at Jared.
