  • Five new retailers to open at Naperville Crossings

    Naperville, Ill. -- Oakbrook Terrace-based Mid-America Asset Management said that five retailers have been signed at Naperville Crossings in Naperville, Ill., totaling nearly 9,400 sq. ft. In addition, three retailers have recently renewed at the center totaling 4,200 sq. ft.

    Tide Dry Cleaners leased 3,260 sq. ft. with plans to open a drive-thru dry cleaning service in the first quarter of 2013, becoming the first location in Illinois.

  • Nash Finch names chair of charitable division

    MINNEAPOLIS — Food distribution company Nash Finch has named Gary Spinazze as chair of the NFC Foundation for a two-year term. The NFC Foundation is the charitable giving arm of Nash Finch. Board member Paula Docken, business analyst, chair of the community outreach committee was named as chair elect.

  • Michaels craft expert lends talents to TLC

    Irving, Texas — Michaels Stores creative expert Jo Pearson will serve as one of three judges on TLC's new competition series, "Craft Wars." The show, hosted and executive produced by celebrity crafter Tori Spelling, premieres June 26 at 10 p.m. Eastern (9 p.m. Central time).

  • Kellie Pickler becomes face of ConAgra hunger awareness campaign

    OMAHA, Neb. — Country music artist Kellie Pickler has been named the national spokesperson for the ConAgra Foods Foundation Hunger-Free Summer program. The joint effort between the ConAgra Foods Foundation and Feeding America helps provide children with access to nutritious meals, especially in the summer.

  • Retail theft down slightly in 2011

    New Orleans — Despite reporting an uptick in organized retail crime, the National Retail Federation revealed that retail theft rates decreased in 2011, according to preliminary results of the organization's latest National Retail Security survey.

  • Target donates $15K for flood relief

    MINNEAPOLIS — Target has donated $15,000 in monetary support and product to assist with Duluth flood relief efforts. A $10,000 cash donation was given to the American Red Cross Northland Chapter to support their response efforts. An additional $5,000 in gift cards will be donated to local nonprofit organizations for essentials such as water and food.

    This new concept makes its retail debut with a unusual store design that has created lots of buzz. The central element of the 1,800-sq.-ft. boutique is a continuous surface made from 25,000 stacked paper bags‹that arches from floor to ceiling. Creating a warm atmosphere, the honeycomb-like structure contrasts with the existing industrial brick and concrete space. All clothing, accessories and jewelry are displayed on quartz slab tables, blackened steel hang bars and steel and glass vitrines.
