  • RSR launches self-assessment tool for omni-channel maturity

    Austin, Texas -- Retail Systems Research (RSR) today launched the RSR Omni-channel Maturity Survey, an online self-assessment tool that helps retailers determine where they are on the road to omni-channel maturity.   • Tanger Outlets National Harbor grand opening

    Greensboro, N.C. — Tanger Outlets National Harbor will celebrate its grand opening on Nov. 22. The outlet store line up includes: White House | Black Market, Calvin Klein, Gap, Halston Heritage, American Eagle Outfitters, Tommy Hilfiger, Banana Republic, Theory, Elie Tahari, Brooks Brothers, Aeropostale, Coach, Hugo Boss, J. Crew, Peter Millar, Diane von Furstenberg, Le Creuset and more.

    The 340,000-sq. ft. center is located just minutes from the U.S. Capital.

  • CashNetUSA Survey: Almost half of Americans will cut holiday spending

    Chicago -- Almost half of Americans (46%) report they will spend less on the holidays than last year, with those living in the South more likely than any other region to say they plan to spend less this year at 55%.

    An online survey conducted in October 2013 among 2,014 Americans ages 18 and older by Harris Interactive on behalf of online lender CashNetUSA also shows that only 8% of Americans indicate they plan to spend more on the holidays this year than last year and 37% indicated they would spend the same as last year.  

     

  • Sprouts Farmers Market commences public offering

    Phoenix -- Sprouts Farmers Market has commenced an underwritten public offering of 22.5 million shares of its common stock by affiliates of Apollo Global Management and certain other stockholders of the company. The underwriters of the offering will have the option to purchase up to an additional 3.375 million shares of common stock from the selling stockholders.

  • REI coming to Southlake, Texas

    Seattle -- REI will open a store in Southlake Texas, in fall 2014. The 22,000-sq.-ft. store, at Park Village, will include a bike shop offering expert assembly and repair services, and provide outdoor-related classes and presentations.

  • Bassett Place opens Premiere/IMAX

    Dallas — The new IMAX Theatre will open at Premiere Cinema IMAX at Bassett Place in El Paso, Texas, on Nov. 21. The new IMAXS screen replaces two standard screen auditoriums. The theater also needed a new 45-ft. high roof to accommodate the new technology. The El Paso location will have one of the largest IMAX theatres in Texas, with a screen 70-ft. long by five stories tall.

  • E-commerce eats into Thanksgiving weekend crowds

    New research from the National Retail Federation sheds light on how 140 million Americans plan to shop during the Thanksgiving weekend.

    According to a new survey from the National Retail Federation, Black Friday will be the biggest day of the weekend: 69.1% plan to shop on Black Friday, or approximately 97 million shoppers.

  • OfficeMax starts Black Friday on Thanksgiving

    Naperville, Ill. – OfficeMax is opening most stores at 8 p.m. local time on Thanksgiving night. OfficeMax.com will start offering online Black Friday deals at 12:01 a.m. EST Thanksgiving morning.

    The OfficeMax Black Friday shopping event will take place for three days from Thursday, Nov. 28 through Saturday, Nov. 30 in stores and at OfficeMax.com. OfficeMax.com will also host a special online-only, pre-Black Friday sales event at 9 p.m. EST Wednesday, Nov. 27.
