  • Verifone expands secure commerce architecture, rebrands

    San Jose, Calif. -- Verifone is making its secure commerce architecture, designed to significantly reduce merchant exposure to large-scale data breaches, available globally. The new architecture is also designed to reduce the certification burden on U.S. merchants, acquirers and other payment providers looking to enable EMV acceptance.

  • CBRE arranges Plano retail center sale

    Dallas -- CBRE Capital Markets’ Retail Investment Properties team announced the sale of Towne Square Shopping Center in Plano, Texas. Dallas-based Norman J. Hoppenstein purchased the retail center from an undisclosed seller.  
  • Sports Authority to host grand opening events for its new and improved stores

    Englewood, Colo. -- Sports Authority will host grand opening events for its new and improved stores in the Las Vegas area on Saturday, Nov. 8, at 8 a.m.  
  • Dollar General extends tender offer to Family Dollar for a second time

    Goodlettsville, Tenn. -- Dollar General Corp extended its $80-a-share tender offer to acquire rival Family Dollar Stores Inc. from Oct. 31, 2014, to Dec. 31, 2014, unless further extended. It is the second time Dollar General has extended its offer.     About 4 million shares, or some 3.6% of Family Dollar's total share capital of about 114 million, had been validly tendered into the offer as of Oct. 30, Dollar General said in a statement.  
  • Work begins on Archer Hotel in Napa Center

    Napa, Calif. -- The transformation of Napa Center, Trademark Property Co. and Zapolski Real Estate’s 275,000-sq.-ft., mixed-use redevelopment in downtown Napa, Calif., is continuing, as a new luxury hotel is in the works.   
  • Clickstop gets creative with employee development

    Clickstop, a multi-brand online retailer, has promoted Sarah Watson to Director of Business Development, moving supplies, for the company’s largest online store, USCargoControl.com.

    This promotion is in line with Clickstop’s focus on strength-based approach to employee learning implemented in 2014.  Watson's natural drive to achieve goals, anticipate obstacles, seek consensus and organize work to improve collaboration has propelled her into this new role, according to the company.
