    Burlington Stores president and CEO Thomas A. Kingsbury has been elected as chairman of the board of directors.

  • Investment banker Wehrwein joins Quantum board

    Finance executive Sven Wehrwein is the newest member of the Quantum Retail Technology board of directors.

    The Minneapolis-based retail technology company said Wehrwein’s addition to the board brings growth expertise and knowledge of corporate finance.

  • FTC likes look of menswear merger

    The Men’s Wearhouse expects to close on its acquisition for Jos. A. Bank in the next 30 days after the Federal Trade Commission determined the deal doesn’t violate antitrust laws.

    Men's Wearhouse agreed to pay $65 a share for Jos. A. Bank earlier this year in a deal valued at $1.8 billion that will create a company with more than 1,700 stores and pro forma annual sales of $3.5 billion.

  • Panjiva: U.S. imports rise in April

    New York - Imports to the U.S. were up in April from March. According to data from supply chain research firm Panjiva, April 2014 showed levels of imports that were 9% higher than imports in April 2013. The numbers of these shipments coming into the U.S. changed 11% from March 2014 to April 2014.

  • Frederick’s of Hollywood shareholders OK going private

    Hollywood, Calif. - Frederick's of Hollywood Group Inc. shareholders approved, at a special meeting of shareholders held May 28, the previously disclosed merger agreement that provides for the acquisition of the company. The merger was approved by more two-thirds of the aggregate voting power of the company's common stock.

  • Delhaize Belgium/Luxembourg CEO to retire

    Brussels, Belgium - Dirk Van den Berghe has decided to resign from his role as CEO of Delhaize Belgium and Luxembourg effective July 31. Delhaize Group is announcing that Van den Berghe has decided to resign and accept a new role outside the company.

  • Aeropostale closes Sycamore transaction; names two board members

    New York - Aeropostale Inc. has entered into definitive agreements with respect to its previously announced strategic partnership and $150 million senior secured credit facilities with Sycamore Partners. As previously announced on March 13, 2014, the senior secured credit facilities with affiliates of Sycamore Partners consist of a five-year $100 million term loan facility and a ten-year $50 million term loan facility that includes a sourcing arrangement with MGF Sourcing, also an affiliate of Sycamore Partners.
