Panjiva: U.S. imports rise in April

New York - Imports to the U.S. were up in April from March. According to data from supply chain research firm Panjiva, April 2014 showed levels of imports that were 9% higher than imports in April 2013. The numbers of these shipments coming into the U.S. changed 11% from March 2014 to April 2014.



The number of global manufacturers shipping to the U.S. increased in April, as well, with a 10% change from March to April. April numbers continued a positive trend begun in March. In line with previous years, Panjiva reported an import increase from February, into March and into April. An increase in the number of active suppliers drove the increased imports, with active suppliers up 10% in April from March.
