  • Leslie's makes a splash in 15 more cities

    Leslie’s Poolmart Inc. plans to make a splash in select cities this month as it opens 15 new retail locations throughout the United States on April 9.

    During the store grand openings between April 9 and April 13, customers will receive 20% off most everything in the store. Each store's grand opening will also be celebrated with a ribbon cutting and other events.

  • Linda Chadwick named president, CEO of Dressage Group North America

    Boston - Dessange International, owner of Fantastic Sams, Camille Albane and Dessange franchise brands, has promoted Linda Chadwick to president and CEO of Dessange Group North America. Chadwick had previously been the president and COO of Fantastic Sams.

    Chadwick will lead Dessange International’s North American expansion of its three salon franchise brands. A veteran franchising executive, Chadwick spent more than 20 years at Burger King Corp., including three years as VP of franchise operations.

  • 99 Cents Only opens nine new California stores

    City of Commerce, Calif. – 99 Cents Only Stores is opening nine new stores in California between April 9 and April 11. The stores will be located in the communities of San Luis Obispo, Ontario, Sonora, Santee, Escondido, Tustin, San Bernardino, Cypress and South El Monte.

    99 Cents Only currently operates 384 stores located in California, Texas, Arizona & Nevada.

    Global cross-border e-commerce provider BorderFree has a new chief marketing officer.

    The company announced that Jonathan Kapplow will be responsible for all marketing functions at the company, driving preference and action for both B2C and B2B constituents.

  • Johnny Rockets in deal to open 100 locations in China

    Aliso Viejo, Calif. -- Johnny Rockets recently signed the largest development deal in the brand's history, with a plan to open 100 restaurants in China, with the first scheduled to open in 2016.

  • GBT Realty acquires prime retail site near Austin

    Austin, Texas -- GBT Realty Corp. announced its acquisition of a prime retail site in the heart of one of the fastest-growing cities in Texas and the U.S. Located in Cedar Park, Texas – a community that has grown over 400% since 2004 – Lakeline Commons is a 1.43-acre site that is shadow-anchored by Target and adjacent to The Home Depot.  

    GBT acquired the north Austin outparcel for $1.6 million on March 19 from Regions Bank.  No additional terms are available.

  • Omnichannel firm hires ex-Walmart exec

    Omnichannel solutions provider RichRelevance has hired a former WalmartLabs executive to serve as its chief product officer.

    Mahesh Tyagarajan will be responsible for product strategy and management, engineering and cloud operation and infrastructure. The company also named microstrategy and business objects veteran John Dickson as vice president of client services, where he will drive the expansion of RichRelevance’s position as the dominant provider of large-scale omnichannel personalization deployments around the world.

  • SRS Real Estate names president of North American brokerage

    Dallas -- SRS Real Estate Partners has appointed Woody McMinn as president of North American brokerage in the Dallas corporate headquarters office. In his newly created position for SRS, McMinn will be responsible for North American brokerage operations, leading market leaders and their respective teams, encouraging collaboration across markets and leading recruiting efforts to grow brokerage, offices, operations and productivity.
