  • Shoebuy.com names Staples exec marketing chief

    Boston - Shoebuy.com has named Anabela Perozek as the company's new CMO. Perozek joins Shoebuy's senior management team and will report to CEO Mike Sorabella.

  • Stater Bros. Markets names senior director real estate

    San Bernardino, Calif. -- Stater Bros. Markets has appointed Michael Reed to the position of senior director real estate.

    Reed has over 13 years of retail real estate experience and has held various leadership positions with other retailers. He most recently served as real estate store development manager for Starbucks and was responsible for growing the company’s Mid-West and Western Mountain Regions.  

  • Nestlé and L'Oréal part ways

    L’Oréal is reportedly buying back 8% of its shares from Nestlé, loosening their long-standing alliance.

    L’Oréal will buy 48.5 million of its own shares. Following the transaction, Nestlé’s stake in L’Oréal will be reduced from 29.4% to 23.29% of the share capital and the Bettencourt Meyers family’s stake in L’Oréal will increase from 30.6% to 33.31%.

  • Winick names senior director in Cranford, N.J., office

    New York — Industry veteran Thomas has Kornitzer officially joined Winick Realty Group N.J., where he will serve as senior director in the company’s Cranford, N.J., office. Kornitzer will direct both landlord and tenant accounts, specifically working with such exclusive clients as Safeguard Self Storage, Pep Boys and Wendy’s.

  • 99 Cents rides sales momentum in third quarter

    Continued positive sales momentum in its business and an increase in foot traffic increase at its stores fueled 99 Cents Only Stores’ third-quarter results.

    The company's net sales increased 11% to $487.9 million from $439.5 million for the prior-year quarter. Same-store sales increased 3%.

  • Hhgregg COO resigns

    Indianapolis – Gregg W. Throggmartin, COO of Hhgregg Inc., has resigned as the executive VP and COO of the company and as a member of the board, effective March 31, 2014. Throgmartin is leaving Hhgregg to pursue outside interests and manage family businesses.

    Hhgregg will commence a search for a new COO. In the interim, other operations officers of the company will fulfill the responsibilities of Throgmartin.

  • Second AMZN author passes 1 million milestone

    Helen Bryan has become the second author in the Amazon Publishing stable of writers to surpass 1 million copies in combined print, audio and Kindle editions.

    Bryan, author of historical novels "War Brides" (2012) and "The Sisterhood" (2013), follows Amazon Publishing author Oliver Pötzsch over the 1 million threshold.
