  • Target names GM exec as chief risk and compliance officer

    Minneapolis -- Target Corp. has named Jacqueline Hourigan Rice as senior VP, chief risk and compliance officer. Rice is a 17-year veteran of General Motors, where she most recently served as chief compliance officer.  
  • SAP: Consumers say “shared values" drive brand loyalty

    Walldorf, Germany -- Nearly one-third of consumers say "shared values" as a reason they are loyal to a brand. According to an SAP survey of 3,000 American consumers age 18 and older, while email was cited as the most popular way to communicate with companies, almost half of customers (48%) said they had problems with delayed or no responses to email More than half of those surveyed (54%) would like, or may like, an offer of help before they have to ask for it.
  • Sears says ‘yes’ to rugs

    SearsRugs.com is the name of a new online marketplace that promises to make shopping for high end affordable rugs easy and fun.

    The site launched recently and promises access to tens of thousands of the best handmade and machine-made rugs from around the world. SearsRugs.com, a licensee of Sears Holdings, said it is working with the retailer to provide an easy and fun shopping experience and indicated the relationship would give SearsRugs.com a substantial position in the online rug market.

    Increasingly, more and more stores are utilizing flat-panel screens for digital messaging and customer engagement. Such initiatives are being advanced by a wide range of departments, from marketing to technology.  And they are referred to by a variety of names, including digital place-based media, retail media, dynamic signage, location-based digital display and enterprise media (the term digital signage is a bit dated.)   

  • The Gifted Barber Shop to open in Desert Square

    Tucson, Ariz. -- The Gifted Barber Shop is opening in the Desert Square Shopping Center located at the northeast corner of Golf Links and Kolb Roads in Tucson, Ariz.

     

    The new barber shop will be 1,200 sq. ft. and is grand-opening on Nov. 7.
