  • Woolworths enhances sustainability with MetricStream

    Cape Town, South Africa -- South African retailer Woolworths has implemented MetricStream's Sustainability Performance Management Solution to capture and measure sustainability metrics and indicators around energy, water, soil, and waste management. The solution will also help Woolworths monitor supplier compliance with sustainability guidelines, and optimize the performance of the company's sustainability projects and initiatives.

    New York -- Uniqlo is remodeling the second floor of its Manhattan flagship on Fifth Avenue, and will reopen it on March 28 as the “SPRZ (Surprise) NY Store.” The renovated space will include the introduction of the “Starbucks Experience,” a full-service coffeehouse.

  • Stater Bros. Charities makes donation to City of Hope

    Stater Bros. Charities has presented a check in the amount of $75,000 to City of Hope to train a social worker in geriatrics and serve as the primary point person for elderly patients.

    The social worker will gain hands on experience working with the geriatrics team, participate in educational conference calls, seminars and conferences and develop a comprehensive resource manual for older patients that will provide information about support services on campus and in the community.

  • Dr Pepper Snapple Group expands Let’s Play initiative

    Three years after launching its Let’s Play initiative, Dr Pepper Snapple Group wants to play some more. The company has committed another $11 million to expand its efforts to provide tools, places and inspiration to make active play a daily priority in the lives of kids, families and communities across North America.

  • Report: Financing for Jos. A. Bank-Eddie Bauer purchase delayed

    Hampstead, Md. – Goldman-Sachs Group, sole underwriter of a $400 million bridge loan supporting Jos. A. Bank’s tentative acquisition of Eddie Bauer, is reportedly postponing the loan. According to the Wall Street Journal, Goldman Sachs had previously set a Feb. 27, 2014 deadline for investors to commit to purchasing portions of the loan, and has not yet set a new deadline.
