  • Amazon to add yet another center to sprawling distribution network

    A few days after announcing a new fulfillment center in Edgerton, Kansas, Amazon.com is unveiling plans for another new center that will serve customers a little further west.

    Amazon plans to open a seventh California fulfillment center in San Bernardino, where the company launched its first Golden State fulfillment center in the state in 2012. The retailer currently employs more than 12,000 full-time hourly associates at its six existing California locations and says it will hire more than 1,000 full-time employees in the new San Bernardino facility.

  • CVS Health Foundation grants to increase health access exceed goals, generate results

    As part of a multi-year, $5 million commitment to increase access to health care in communities nationwide, the CVS Health Foundation on Tuesday released new data from programs supported through partnerships with the National Association of Free & Charitable Clinics and the National Association of Community Health Centers.

    The Foundation also announced $1.5 million in new grants distributed to 46 community health centers and free clinics for 2016.

  • Sears Holdings names new chief administrative officer

    Sears Holdings has named an expert in digital transformation to fill the newly created role of chief administrative officer.

    The company has named James P. Andrew to fill the new position, which will be responsible for the company's corporate support functions, including financial planning and analysis, business finance, procurement, legal, and human resources.

  • Walmart goes omnichannel against hunger

    Walmart is partnering with five suppliers to launch an omnichannel fundraising initiative that is sure to appeal to many of its shoppers.

    The retailer is launching its“Fight Hunger. Spark Change.” campaign to raise money to fight hunger. Walmart, working with five suppliers representing some of the nation’s leading food companies, will offer three ways for shoppers to take action against hunger and help families in need.

  • The Container Store asks customers to 'Kiss Clutter Goodbye'

    The Container Store is teaming up with Goodwill on a new spring cleaning campaign with a philanthropic angle.

    From now through May 15, The Container Store is encouraging customers to declutter and donate via two item donation weekend events at the retailer's locations nationwide, as well as a monetary donation initiative in partnership with Goodwill through the end of the campaign.

    Kohl’s, The Home Depot and Sears Holdings have all been honored with 2016 Energy Star Partner of the Year — Sustained Excellence Awards from the Environmental Protection Agency for leadership in sustainability efforts.

    KOHL’S: Kohl’s was recognized for its continued leadership in protecting the environment through superior energy efficiency achievements. It is the fifth consecutive year that the retailer has been recognized with the Energy Star Partner of the Year – Sustained Excellence Award.
