Bloomie's to open fourth store — with a twist
Bloomingdale’s smaller-store format is set to make its Northeast debut.
The upscale department store retailer, a division of Macy’s, will open its fourth Bloomie's store on Nov. 14, 2024, at The Grove at Shrewsbury, an open-air lifestyle center in Shrewsbury, N.J. The 20,000-sq.-ft. location will be the first Bloomie’s to feature an all-women's assortment, with a curated collection of contemporary ready-to-wear, accessories, beauty and fine jewelry. Brands range from Rag & Bone to Tory Burch to Chanel Beauty.
The new Bloomie’s will offer services that include styling, easy returns, pickups, alterations and gift wrapping. It will also feature a grab-and-go version of Bloomingdale’s signature Forty Carrots cafe, best known for its frozen yogurt.
The shop will be the first Bloomie's in the New Jersey trading area, adding to the four full line Bloomingdale’s stores operating in Short Hills, Bergen, Willowbrook and Bridgewater. Bloomingdale's also has outlets in Princeton and Jersey Gardens (Elizabeth).

Bloomie’s made its retail debut in August 2021, in Fairfax, Va.’s Mosaic District. Additional locations have since opened at the Westfield Old Orchard Mall in Skokie, Ill., and University Village in the Ravenna neighborhood, located north of downtown Seattle.
The Bloomie’s expansion is part of Macy’s “Bold New Chapter” strategy, which it announced earlier this year. It includes closing approximately 150 underproductive Macy’s locations, prioritizing investment in approximately 350 “go-forward” nameplate locations and the continued expansion of small-format stores
Bloomingdale's currently operates 32 full-line stores, 21 Bloomingdale's The Outlet stores and three Bloomie's stores. In addition, Bloomingdale's has an international presence with a location in Dubai and Kuwait.
