Best Buy kicks off new membership program, readies July Fourth sale

MyBestBuy membership program
Best Buy now offers its new three-tier MyBestBuy membership program.

Best Buy is staying busy as the Independence Day holiday approaches.

The consumer electronics giant officially launches its revamped annual membership program, called My Best Buy Memberships, on Tuesday June 27., 2023. It includes three membership options: My Best Buy, My Best Buy Plus and My Best Buy Total. The top tier, My Best Buy Total, includes Geek Squad tech support 24/7, regardless of where an item was bought and 20% off repairs.

Best Buy’s existing Totaltech membership program rolled out nationwide in 2021 and served as the foundation for the new tiered program. Members be able to transition between the three tiers of the new program or cancel their membership at any time.

In addition, My Best Buy credit card holders will get access to additional benefits, including an exclusive 5% back in rewards or flexible financing options on any purchase made at Best Buy. As a cardholder, they also are automatically enrolled into and have access to My Best Buy (free) membership benefits.

“These three tiers create a powerful membership experience for our customers,” said Patrick McGinnis, senior VP of memberships at Best Buy. “We took what our customers told us they value most with their technology and membership, which includes perks like exclusive access to deals and member-only prices, and used it to shape our three tiers with great benefits and more flexibility.”

July Fourth sale kicks off June 30

Best Buy’s annual July Fourth Sale kicks off on Friday, June 30, and  My Best Buy Plus and My Best Buy Total members will get access to exclusive offers and deeper discounts, including special deals listed here.

My Best Buy Plus and My Best Buy Total members have access to member-only deals every day in-store, on BestBuy.com and on the Best Buy app. Customers can visit the dedicated member deals page on the Best Buy e-commerce site or click on the My Best Buy icon to browse featured member-only deals, as well as deals by product category, Apple, subscriptions and free trials, and more.

Best Buy’s July Fourth sale occurs right before the annual Amazon Prime Day omnichannel sales extravaganza, which takes place this year July 11-12.  As expected, fellow retail titans like Walmart and Target have already announced their own competing mega-sales events, and other retailers including Newegg are also joining the fray.
