Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. is continuing to bolster its leadership as its acquisition and reinvention strategies gain steam.

The company, whose portfolio includes Bed Bath & Beyond, The Container Store, Kirkland’s, Overstock and BuyBuy Baby, has announced that Kyla Robinson will serve as its new chief technology transformation officer.

Reporting to newly-named president Amy Sullivan, Robinson will be responsible for building a “unified technology and data platform” that connects Bed Bath & Beyond’s omnichannel retail experience, home services, product ecosystem and financial capabilities into a “single, intelligent system.”

Robinson most recently spent five and a half years at shapewear brand Spanx, where she held various roles and oversaw digital commerce, product, engineering, and customer experience for the direct-to-consumer business. Prior to Spanx, she held leadership roles at Nike, Walmart and Saks Fifth Avenue.

In January, CEO Marcus Lemonis outlined a three-part strategy to transform Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. into an “Everything Home Company.” The strategy is built on three pillars: omnichannel retail and commerce; digital, financial, insurance and blockchain services; and beyond home, which includes an AI-powered home operating system.

“Kyla is a proven technology and product leader who understands how to translate data and AI into real customer outcomes,” said Sullivan. “As we build Everything Home, this is about creating one system that understands the customer, the home, and what comes next.”

Since the strategy was announced, Bed Bath & Beyond has made multiple acquisitions, including The Container Store and F9 Brands Inc., the operator of Lumber Liquidators, Cabinets To Go, Gracious Home/Thos. Baker, and Southwind Building Products.

In her new C-suite role, Robinson will lead the company’s enterprise technology roadmap with a focus on building a unified data and identity layer, including integration with Bilt; advancing AI and customer intelligence to enable predictive, lifecycle-driven engagement; modernizing and securing platforms across stores, digital and services; and driving product and technology innovation across retail, e-commerce and the broader home ecosystem.

“The opportunity to build a system that connects data, technology and the full home lifecycle is incredibly compelling,” said Robinson. “I am excited to help create a more intelligent, adaptive platform that improves both the customer experience and how the business operates.”
