Bed Bath & Beyond is helping launch baby and home delivery on the Uber platform.
Bed Bath & Beyond is continuing to offer customers more options for receiving same-day delivery of online orders.
The home goods retailer is launching a new partnership with Uber Technologies Inc. to help introduce the Uber Eats app’s new baby and kids vertical. Starting Monday, Nov. 1, a catalog of essential baby and home products from nearly 120 buybuy Baby and more than 750 Bed Bath & Beyond locations nationwide is available for on-demand delivery through the Uber and Uber Eats apps.
The delivery assortment includes diapers and wipes, first aid kits and bath toys; as well as a wide variety of Bed Bath & Beyond home products. Beyond initiating same-day delivery with Uber and Uber Eats, Bed Bath & Beyond also recently expanded a partnership with DoorDash. The company introduced same-day delivery with the Instacart and Shipt platforms at a flat rate of $4.99 for orders over $39 in September 2020.
Meanwhile, Uber has been actively growing its role as a same-day delivery platform for retailers in a variety of verticals. Examples of recent partnerships include Abercrobmie & Fitch, Albertsons, Costco, and Walgreens.
“We are rebuilding our authority in the home and baby retail categories to appeal to new consumers, while strengthening relationships with our valued, long-standing customers,” said Rafeh Masood, Bed Bath & Beyond chief digital and interim chief brand officer. “This partnership with Uber is a terrific way we are reaching new customers and the fact that buybuy Baby was chosen to help launch Uber’s baby and kids delivery vertical reflects the brand’s leadership in welcoming customers to parenthood. We are excited to begin this journey with Uber and look forward to having their innovative services market and deliver products from Bed Bath & Beyond and buybuy Baby right to customers’ doorsteps.”
“We’re thrilled to be able to offer parents and caregivers an easy and convenient way to find everything they need for their families, and have it delivered to their doorsteps,” said Raj Beri, Uber VP & global head of grocery and new verticals. “Every parent knows the stress of urgently needing diapers, pacifiers, thermometers and more—and we know that our new baby and kids hub will help to alleviate some of the stress.”
The new baby and kids hub on Uber Eats also includes brands such as Honest, Yumi, Lalo, Little Spoon, and Nyssa. To search, consumers can open the Uber app and tap “Baby” under categories, or search with the baby emoji. From Nov. 1-11, Uber customers will get $20 off an order of $60 or more from Bed Bath & Beyond, buybuy Baby, Honest, Yumi or Little Spoon.
Bath & Beyond Inc. and its subsidiaries function as an omnichannel retailer selling a wide assortment of merchandise in the home, baby, beauty and wellness markets. Additionally, the company is a partner in a joint venture which operates retail stores in Mexico under the name Bed Bath & Beyond. The company also operates e-commerce websites under several banners.
