Bass Pro Shops adds another location to its store opening lineup

Bass Pro Shops
Bass Pro Shops operates nearly 200 retail locations throughout North America.

Bass Pro Shops continues to expand its slate of store openings.

The outdoor retailer plans to open a 110,000-sq.-ft. store in Irmo, S.C., three miles from Lake Murray, one of the Southeast's premier destinations for boating, fishing and outdoor recreation. Expected to open in late 2027, the new Bass Pro Shops will be the company’s fourth location in South Carolina.

“With Lake Murray offering some of the finest bass fishing in the country and generations of families enjoying the outdoors together, we're proud to become part of that tradition,” said Johnny Morris, founder of Bass Pro Shops.

The company also plans to open a location in Abilene, Texas, in 2027. Looking ahead to 2028, Bass Pro Shops has stores planned for Grossmont Center in La Mesa, Calif., and College Station, Texas, adjacent to the future South College Station baseball and softball complex.

Earlier this year, the retailer announced plans for its single largest single-level location to date: a 200,00-sq.-ft. location at Riverton in Sayreville, N.J.

Every Bass Pro location is designed as a tribute to the region it serves, with a custom design inspired by the locale. The Bass Pro's signature shopping experience combines retail with entertainment, outdoor education and conservation.

The company operates nearly 200 retail locations throughout North America. At each store, customers are invited to “round up” at the register and online through the Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s Outdoor Fund to join the cause and advance programs aimed at conserving habitat and wildlife, advocating for sportsmen’s rights and connecting new audiences to the outdoors. (Bass Pro Shops acquired Cabela’s in 2017.)
