Amazon unveils Cyber Monday deals

Amazon will run a 72-hour Cyber Monday sale.

“Cyber Monday” begins at Amazon on Saturday, Nov. 27.

The e-tail titan is providing a preview of some of the thousands of discounts it will offer during its Cyber Monday deals weekend (Nov. 27-29).

This year, Amazon began holiday discounts in earnest in early October. On Monday, Oct. 4, Amazon began offering what it calls “Black Friday-worthy” deals for the holiday season, with new gifting by email/text feature for Prime members. Amazon has also been heavily promoting its two-day Black Friday sales event, which begins Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 25) and runs through Friday, Nov. 26.

Now, Amazon is actively promoting its upcoming Cyber Monday promotion, which it says will feature discounts across every product category. Specific discounts will include electronics from Samsung and LG, home and kitchen products from Shark, Vitamix, and Cuisinart, toys from Hasbro, Lego, and Crayola, beauty items from Revlon, fashion items from Ray-Ban, and select Alexa-enabled devices like the Amazon Fire TV 50” 4-Series.

Throughout the Cyber Monday event, customers can also shop thousands of deals from Amazon's independent selling partners, most of which are small and medium-sized businesses, including women-owned, Black-owned, and military family-owned businesses.

On Cyber Monday (Nov. 29), the Amazon Live livestreaming platform will hold various livestream events showcasing a curated selection of deals, product demonstrations, try-on hauls, and live chats hosted by celebrities and influencers. Hosts will include supermodel and entrepreneur Miranda Kerr, country singer and songwriter Jessie James Decker, and fashion influencer Aimee Song. Viewers can shop featured products and brands through a carousel that updates in real-time, via amazon.com/live or the Amazon Live Shopping app on Fire TV.

All throughout the 2021 holiday, season customers will be able to shop and discover items from Amazon’s selection of gift guides, including the Holiday Toy List and Oprah’s Favorite Things list, as well as the curated Customers' Most-Loved Gifts guide and Experts' Gift Picks gift guide, which features top picks from celebrities including Jessica Alba, Jojo Siwa, gold medalist Suni Lee and influencer duo Aint Afraid; as well as media outlets including BuzzFeed and Refinery29.

Cyber Monday deals and products will be available at various dates and times on Amazon between Saturday, November 27, and Monday, November 29, while supplies last. Customers can shop Cyber Monday deals at amazon.com/cybermonday, on the Amazon shopping app, or by asking, “Alexa, what are my deals?” Select Cyber Monday discounts will also be available at all Amazon 4-star store and Amazon Books store locations. Prime members will also receive 30 minutes of early access to select Lightning Deals throughout the holiday season.

Amazon is launching all of these aggressive holiday promotions as it reinforces its supply chain to meet holiday demand in the face of global disruption. The e-tailer has increased ports of entry across its network by 50%, hired more employees, and bolstered its technology and transportation capabilities. The efforts have positioned Amazon to “get customers what they want, when they want it, wherever they are this holiday season," according to the company.

Other steps Amazon has taken include doubling its container processing capacity and expanded its ocean freight carrier network partnerships. Later in the holiday season, Amazon expects to have more than 85 aircraft in its fleet to help ensure ample capacity to transport customer packages across longer distances in shorter timeframes.
