Amazon provides two-hour grocery delivery for Cub in Twin Cities
Amazon’s latest fast delivery partnership is with a well-established Minnesota grocer.
In an email to Chain Store Age, an Amazon spokesperson said the online giant is offering two-hour delivery windows in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul area for fresh foods, local products and everyday essentials from Cub on its site. This creates a seamless shopping experience for Cub customers alongside Amazon's own grocery and household essentials selection.
"We're excited to bring Cub to Amazon customers throughout the Twin Cities," Jamie Sjoquist, VP, marketing, Cub, said in emailed commentary to Chain Store Age. "This collaboration with Amazon allows us to reach even more shoppers with the convenience of same-day delivery, making it easier for families to get the groceries they need, when they need them. We're proud to offer a wide selection with the trusted delivery experience Amazon provides.”
Customers can shop for groceries from Cub on Amazon by visiting the retailer’s dedicated storefront on the Amazon site or using the Amazon shopping app. Grocery pick-up for Cub orders through Amazon will also be available at participating locations.
This new offering includes thousands of items across multiple categories and is available for grocery delivery to shoppers throughout the Minneapolis-Saint Paul metropolitan area, including Maplewood West, Edina, Crystal and Oakdale, Minn.
Amazon has launched similar hosted delivery partnership with other regional grocery chains including Save Mart and Lucky Supermarkets in California, as well as Weis Markets in cities across New Jersey, Virginia, Pennsylvania and Maryland.

"We're focused on meeting shoppers where they are and giving them the grocery options they want," said Sophie Turrell, director, North America grocery partnerships at Amazon. "Bringing Cub to Amazon delivers exactly that — more selection, trusted local brands, and the speed and convenience shoppers expect from Amazon, making grocery shopping simpler and easier for customers."
For a limited time, both Prime members and customers without a Prime membership will obtain free delivery on all Cub orders over $25 with two-hour delivery windows. Shoppers can choose same-day delivery windows or schedule delivery for future days and times that work best for them.
Based in Stillwater, Minn. and founded in 1968, the Cub chain includes more than 75 grocery stores and pharmacies in Minnesota and Illinois. Cub also offers a selection of wines, champagne, rose, craft beer, cider, mixers through its 30 Cub Wine & Spirits and Cub Liquor stores.
