Amazon Prime summer promotion provides savings on fuel, groceries
Amazon Prime Day may be over, but Prime members have more limited-time discounts to look forward to.
The online giant will offer members of its Prime paid membership program seasonal discounts tied to the upcoming July Fourth holiday as well as for the entire summer. These include:
Fuel
During the July Fourth holiday weekend (July 2-5), members of the Prime, Prime Access and Prime for Young Adults loyalty programs can ave $0.50 per gallon on one fuel purchase at more than 7,500 BP, Amoco and participating AmPm and Thorntons locations across the U.S.
Every day throughout the year, Prime members can receive fuel savings of $0.10 per gallon, while households with Amazon Family memberships can saved $0.20 per gallon.

Groceries
At Amazon’s Whole Foods Market natural and organic foods subsidiary, Prime members can receive 50% off ice cream and frozen treats July 1 to 7, as well as 25% off ground beef, and 30% off select snacks online and in-store.
In addition, Amazon is offering Prime members summer discounts on what it calls “barbecue essentials,” enabling a full barbecue for less than $20. That includes:
- Grilling meats under $10, including chicken thighs, ground beef burgers, and hot dogs
- Summer produce under $4, including lemons and sweet corn
- Party-size chips, snacks, frozen treats, and ice cream starting at $2.
The retailer is also offering a seasonal grocery discount to members of Prime Access, a discount loyalty program open to eligible government assistance recipients and income-verified customers. From July to September, Prime Access members can receive an exclusive $5 monthly grocery credit available at the start of each month, applied automatically at checkout on eligible everyday essential grocery orders of $25 or more on Amazon.com.
Anyone can join Prime in the U.S. for $14.99 per month or $139 per year, or start a free 30-day trial if eligible. Qualifying government-assistance recipients and income-verified customers can try Prime Access free for 30 days, then pay $6.99 per month. Eligible new higher education students and 18- to 24-year-olds can try Prime Young Adult for a six-month $0 trial, then pay $7.49 per month or $69 per year.
