Amazon offers same-day prescription delivery, primary care in Ohio

Amazon prescription delivery
Amazon is bringing fast prescription delivery to Ohio.

Consumers in Ohio have access to fast prescription delivery and remote and in-person healthcare services provided by Amazon.

Amazon Pharmacy is expanding same and next-day delivery to hundreds of cities and towns across Ohio with the opening of two same-day delivery sites within Amazon’s 200,000-plus-sq.-ft. same-day delivery facilities in Lockbourne and Middleburg Heights, offering fast and free medication delivery directly to their doors.

The facilities have temperature-controlled storage and are staffed by trained, licensed pharmacists. In Ohio towns outside the same-day delivery coverage area, Amazon says next-day and two-day prescription delivery is often available.

"The launch of Amazon Pharmacy’s same-day medication delivery in Ohio comes at a time when many people need convenient and affordable access to medications," said Dawn Marie Dragos, pharmacist-in-charge of the Amazon Pharmacy Middleburg Heights same-day delivery site. "Residents can now count on reliable access to a wide range of medications for faster treatment and better medication adherence to help them live healthier lives."

The launch of these two sites is part of the company's plan to expand same-day medication delivery to more than 4,500 cities and towns by the end of 2026. This initiative also follows the launch of same-day Amazon Pharmacy prescription delivery to the Chicago area and San Francisco Bay area in the fourth quarter of 2025.

"Customers in Ohio already rely on Amazon for fast delivery of groceries, household essentials and more," said Jennifer Sze, pharmacist-in-charge of the Amazon Pharmacy Lockbourne same-day delivery site. "Now, they can expect the same exceptional support and convenience for their medications."

First introduced in 2020, Amazon Pharmacy operates as a full-service online pharmacy that delivers prescription medications directly to customers’ doors in all 50 states and Washington, D.C. Amazon Pharmacy achieved faster delivery speeds in 2025 across all 50 states and Washington, D.C., using delivery methods tailored to the needs of different communities.

To order prescriptions through Amazon Pharmacy, customers ask their healthcare provider to send a prescription directly to Amazon Pharmacy, just as they would with any pharmacy, and receive free delivery to their doorstep. Prime membership is not required to use Amazon Pharmacy's full-service digital pharmacy or receive many of its benefits.
