Amazon expands 30-minute delivery across the U.S.
Amazon is accelerating its "ultra-fast" delivery push.
The online giant now offers its Amazon Now ultra-fast delivery service in Atlanta, Dallas-Fort Worth, Philadelphia and Seattle; and is rapidly expanding it in dozens more U.S. cities including Austin, Houston, Minneapolis, Orlando, Phoenix, Denver and Oklahoma City. The company plans to extend the service to tens of millions of customers in these and other cities by the end of the year.
Following its rollout in India and the United Arab Emirates earlier in 2025, an Amazon Now pilot launched in part of Seattle and Philadelphia in December. It is Amazon’s fastest delivery service to date, delivering thousands of items including household essentials, personal consumer electronics and groceries to customers’ doorsteps in about 30 minutes or less.

The assortment includes products such as milk, eggs, fresh produce, toothpaste, cosmetics, pet treats, diapers, paper products, electronics, seasonal items, over-the-counter medicines, chips and dips.
Where Amazon Now is available, customers will see a "30-Minute Delivery" option in the banner on the Amazon app or homepage, and see Amazon Now offers as they search and shop.
Prime members pay a discounted delivery fee of $3.99 per order, while customers without a Prime membership pay $13.99. An additional order fee of $1.99 for Prime members and $3.99 for customers without a Prime membership applies to purchases below $15.
Customers can shop by category, such as dairy and eggs, fresh produce, bakery, health, baby, pet, personal care, electronics, and alcohol where permitted, with personalized product recommendations. In most areas where it’s available, Amazon Now serves customers 24 hours a day. The service uses a network of smaller locations designed for efficient order fulfillment, placed close to where customers live and work.
Amazon speeds up delivery
Amazon has been busy during the past year creating a variety of fast and ultrafast delivery options. These include:
- One-hour and three-hour delivery in select cities and towns across the U.S.
- Amazon Pharmacy directly offering same-day U.S. home delivery of a variety of prescription weight management and diabetes medications.
- Offering two-hour delivery windows in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul area for fresh foods, local products and everyday essentials from regional grocer Cub on its site.
- Expanding same-day prescription delivery through Amazon Pharmacy, leveraging Amazon’s existing same-day delivery network to enable medication delivery within hours at no additional cost for members (with significant further expansion planned in 2026).
- In addition, with the help of AI, Amazon stores the right selection close to customers, enabling faster deliveries and shorter shipping distances while maintaining the broadest selection of products possible for Prime members. This technology also helps Amazon adjust its selection in different areas to meet local and seasonal needs.
"Amazon Now is for when you need or want the convenience of getting your Amazon order delivered in 30 minutes or less,” said Udit Madan, senior VP, Amazon worldwide operations. “With thousands of items available for ultra-fast delivery, you can get everything from groceries for dinner, to AirPods before a flight, to household essentials like laundry detergent or toothpaste delivered right to your door.”
Customers can see if Amazon Now is available in their area and shop the Amazon Now store by checking a dedicated page on the Amazon app and site.
