Amazon Pharmacy is entering a new partnership designed to streamline the prescribing experience for clinicians and patients.

The full-service online pharmacy operated by Amazon is collaborating with digital prescription platform eNavvi to provide clinicians with real-time medication pricing, availability and nationwide home delivery options directly through eNavvi's e-prescribing workflow. The integration is designed to support medication adherence and increase access, especially for patients in “pharmacy deserts” with few or no local brick-and-mortar pharmacies.

For healthcare professionals, the eNavvi integration provides transparent costs comparing cash pricing to estimated insurance copays with eligible manufacturer discounts applied automatically and shows when medications will arrive at patients' homes.

First introduced in 2020, Amazon Pharmacy operates as a full-service online pharmacy that delivers prescription medications directly to customers’ doors in all 50 states and Washington, D.C.  Amazon Pharmacy also offers 24/7 pharmacist support to all customers via phone or online chat, and a special feature enables caregivers to securely manage loved ones' medications through their own Amazon Pharmacy account.

To order prescriptions through Amazon Pharmacy, customers ask their healthcare provider to send a prescription directly to Amazon Pharmacy, just as they would with any pharmacy, and receive free delivery to their doorstep. Prime membership is not required to use Amazon Pharmacy's full-service digital pharmacy or receive many of its benefits.

Same-day prescription delivery is available in nearly 3,000 U.S. cities and towns, expanding to nearly 4,500 by the end of 2026.

"Amazon Pharmacy is committed to providing a transparent pharmacy experience that removes the friction preventing patients from reliably accessing the medications they are prescribed," said Tanvi Patel, VP and GM of Amazon Pharmacy. "By integrating directly into the prescribing workflow with eNavvi, we are helping clinicians and patients make informed decisions about their health. We know that when patients can conveniently access their medications, they take them and live healthier lives."

Patients who are Prime members can obtain additional savings of up to 80% off generic medications. They can also participate in RxPass, Amazon Pharmacy's $5 monthly subscription program that provides more than 60 generics at no additional cost, regardless of how many prescriptions they need, all delivered free to their door.

"This collaboration fundamentally changes what physicians can see and do at the moment of prescribing," said Simon Chang, D.O., CEO of eNavvi. "Transparent pricing, real-time availability and direct routing to Amazon Pharmacy means better decisions and fewer barriers between patients and the medications they need."
