Amazon debuts 'Add to Delivery' button as new Prime perk

Amazon add to delivery
Prime members have an easier way to add items to deliveries.

Amazon had added a new feature that allows its Prime members to easily add more items to their upcoming deliveries — with a single tap.

The company's new "Add to Delivery" feature is available on Amazon's shopping app and mobile e-commerce site. Using the feature, Prime members will not need to go through checkout again if they decide to order another item before a scheduled delivery has been shipped. Instead, they can tap the blue "Add to Delivery" button on the detail page for eligible items, and have the extra item(s) added to their upcoming delivery automatically without any additional shipping fees.

"We’ve all been there," Amazon said in a corporate blog post. "You place an Amazon order, then realize there’s something else you need — paper towels, cat treats, that book you meant to grab, a birthday card, or your favorite snacks. Maybe it’s five minutes later. Maybe five hours. Either way, you’d like it delivered with your next order."

Eligible items that can be added to a customer’s delivery arriving later that day or the next day will show a blue "Add to Delivery" button on their product detail page. on the Amazon shopping app or mobile e-commerce site. When a Prime member taps the button, the item is instantly added to their upcoming delivery.

Prime offers free delivery on more than 300 million items across 35 categories, tens of millions of which can be delivered the same or next day. The service now offers 20 times more selection that can be delivered twice as fast compared to when Prime first launched in the U.S. in 2005.

So far during 2025, Amazon says the number of items delivered the same or next day in the U.S. increased over 30% compared to the same period last year. Overall, 2024 marked Amazon’s fastest year for delivery speed yet.
