Amazon brings livestream shopping to Prime Video, Freevee

Amazon is expanding the reach of its Amazon Live livestream shopping platform.

The online giant launched Amazon Live, which offers live video streams of presenters demonstrating various products for sale, on its site and app in 2019.  Amazon is now expanding the accessibility of Amazon Live with a new interactive, shoppable and free ad-supported (FAST) channel on its Prime Video and Freevee streaming services. 

The new FAST Channel features Amazon’s "shop the show" technology, which enables customers in the U.S. to browse, shop and engage with streaming content they’re watching on the TV screen via Prime Video or Freevee by using their mobile device. (According to Amazon, in 2023, more than 1 billion customers in the U.S. and India watched Amazon Live streams across desktop, mobile, and Fire TV.)

 

How it works

While watching the new FAST Channel, customers can open the Amazon Shopping app on their phone, type "shop the show" into the search bar and be instantly directed to a shopping carousel highlighting the featured products they see on TV in real time.

The new channel will feature 24/7 programming of customers’ most-watched and most favored content from Amazon Live, including content from creators and brands such as Ashley Iaconetti and Jared Haibon, Rachel Clark, Madison LeCroy, Haley Kalil, Tastemade and The Bump.

Customers can also gain access to and navigate the new Amazon Live FAST channel by navigating to the “Live TV” tab on Prime Video, Fire TV, or the Freevee app, as well as the Amazon Live tab on desktop and mobile.

Amazon Live is also collaborating with creators to develop new streaming content made specifically for the TV screen, including a new original show with TV personality and fashion influencer Paige DeSorbo that will launch on Amazon Live’s FAST Channel this June.
