Aldi will hold its first in-store wedding on Nov. 9.

Aldi is planning to hold its first-ever in-store wedding — complete with a reception and more.

The discount grocer is holding a contest to find a couple to get married in an Aldi store, all expenses paid. The wedding will take place at the Aldi Insights Center, the company’s model store at its U.S. headquarters in Batavia, Ill. Aldi plans to transform the entire space to be “wedding-ready” for the event, which will be officiated by an Aldi employee.

The company will also supply a photographer, DJ and hair and makeup team. The winning couple will also receive free travel accommodations.

After the couple says, "I do," Aldi will host a reception for the newlyweds and up to 50 of their family and friends featuring some of the grocer’s signature food items and beverages, including a branded tiered wedding cake. The event will also include custom wedding favors.  As a parting gift, Aldi will give the couple free groceries for a year.

To enter the contest, couples must go to the Happily Ever Aldi page on the company website from Aug. 3 through Aug. 17 to tell the grocer what makes their love story special and why they deserve to be the first couple ever to be married at Aldi.

The contest is open to individuals who are age 21 or older. Entrants must be engaged to be married at least one month prior to entry and be willing to be married on 11/9/22. They must also be eligible to be legally married in Kane County, Ill.

"Every time our shoppers include us in one of their big moments, we feel the #ALDILove," said Kate Kirkpatrick, director of communications at Aldi USA. "We're showing our #ALDILove in return by giving one crazy-in-love-with-ALDI couple an opportunity to celebrate the ultimate life milestone with us."

With 2,200 stores across 38 states, Aldi I is on track to become the third-largest grocery retailer by store count by the end of 2022.
