Z Gallerie is continuing its store comeback under its new ownership.

The modern furniture and home décor retailer, which was acquired out of bankruptcy in January 2024 for $7.2 million by online furniture retailer Karat Home, opened the doors to a pop-up store at Galleria Dallas. The mixed-use development features more than 200 retailers, restaurants and experiences.

The 2,000-sq.-ft. location Z Galleria pop-up features merchandise from its fall/winter portfolio. The vibrant design culture of Galleria Dallas was a natural fit for Z Gallerie’s new line of oversized décor statements, sculptural silhouettes and modern, natural palette, according to the company.

“Dallas has an incredible sense of style and sophistication,” said Scarlett Fan, CEO of Z Gallerie and founder of Karat Home. “It’s a city that truly values design and individuality, everything Z Gallerie stands for. We couldn’t imagine a better place to begin this next phase.”

This is the second store in Z Gallerie’s retail revival plan. In March, the company opened a warehouse outlet in Gardenia, Calif. Driven by a need to create spaces that inspire and tell a story, the new outlet honored the brand’s legacy while introducing a bold, modern vision for the future, according to Fan.

“With our enhanced shopping experience and strategic retail expansion, we are ensuring that customers can engage with our brand in ways that best suit their lifestyles,” she added.

Under Karat Home’s new ownership, there are big plans for Gallerie Z’s return to physical retail, including opening stores stores nationwide in 2026.

“Z Gallerie has always stood for accessible luxury and bold self-expression,” said Fan. “As someone who has loved and respected the brand for years, I’m honored to carry its legacy forward, celebrating its iconic aesthetic while reimagining it for a new generation of stylish homes.”

Z Gallerie’s California-based warehouse outlet was its first new location since its fall 2023 bankruptcy filing. This was the third time the company filed, citing “severe liquidity constraints” resulting from “underperforming retail stores, adverse macroeconomic trends and industry-specific headwinds," and subsequently closed all its stores.
