WW takes on Peloton, Apple Fitness with new digital membership

One of the country’s oldest weight management companies is entering the interactive digital fitness space.

WW International Inc., formerly Weight Watchers, is launching a new membership plan called Digital 360 (D360), which provides live and on-demand content. The new membership offers weight loss coaching services including guidance, expert insight from coaches, and a community for weight loss and total body wellness.

Specifically designed for digitally savvy, always-connected consumers, D360 offers coaches with expertise in areas including fitness, mindfulness, and applied clinical psychology. Members can follow one or all of the coaches on the WW app to get exclusive digital content, live and on-demand coaching experiences, and a catalog of special virtual events. In addition, they can receive support from a digital community of both coaches and other D360 members.

WW is launching D360 into an increasingly crowded interactive digital fitness membership market. Some of the best-known established brands in the space include Peloton and Apple Fitness; along with competitors such as ForMe Life and Echelon

Other D360 features include a new walk-and-learn podcast which pairs celebrity influencers such as Oprah Winfrey, Matthew McConaughey, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Dr. Torri Love Griffin, and Gabby Bernstein with a custom-designed audio walking workout; as well as a “Weighing In” podcast with clinical psychologist Dr. Allison Grupski, WW director of behavior change strategies & coaching.

"We are thrilled to offer D360 - an entirely new way for members to choose to do WW," said Mindy Grossman, WW CEO and president. "Coaching is the heartbeat of WW, and our expert D360 Coaches will not only support our members with their expertise and advice, but they will also introduce them to a variety of thought leaders at the forefront of wellness -to offer their unique perspectives to our members on how to reach their goals, improve their health and achieve a life filled with possibility."
