Walmart touts lowest prices in seven years on select back-to-school supplies
Walmart is leaning into value to attract today's budget-minded back-to-school shoppers.
With multiple surveys confirming that consumers are prioritizing price and looking for deals in their back-to-school shopping, the nation’s largest retailer said is offering its lowest prices since 2019 on the 14 most popular school supplies found on classroom lists across the country. Select items start at just $0.25.

Walmart is also offering more than 1,300 price cuts (“rollbacks”) compared to last year. In other deals, the chain’s “Back-to-School” lunch basket features an enhanced selection of nutritious options while maintaining an average cost of less than $2 per lunch.
Beyond everyday basics, Walmart's assortment features on-trend school supplies and accessories that let students personalize everything from backpacks to binders.
The company’s back-to-college assortment includes a new basket, “College Grocery Haul,” featuring stock-up essentials under $35, along with on-trend décor, organization solutions, technology and everyday necessities designed for campus life. College students can also get a full Walmart+ membership for the discounted rate of $49 a year.
Walmart is also offering a curated assortment of new and trending teacher gifts starting as low as $2.48 — making it easy for families and students to celebrate the educators who make every school year possible, the retailer said.
The company noted that families can take advantage of Walmart Wellness Day on July 25, making it easy to prepare for a healthy start to the school year in one convenient stop.
“From classrooms to campuses, lunchboxes to dorm rooms, Walmart is proud to help families, students and teachers navigate their annual back-to-school reset,” the company stated. “By bringing together affordability, inspiration and convenience in one destination, Walmart is doing more than helping customers shop for school — it's helping America get ready for what's next.”
