Walmart promotes fashion with traveling 'Style Tour'

Walmart Style Tour
Walmart is running an omnichannel cross-country "Style Tour" promotion.

Walmart is hitting the road to bring its fashion products and services direct to customers — with an omnichannel twist.

The discount giant is launching the “Walmart Style Tour,” which will be held at 40 events across the U.S. in September and October. The tour stops will be co-located with community events, with the first stop on Friday, Sept. 6, at the Taste of Chicago event in the city's Grant Park.

The promotion also includes a dedicated page on the Walmart e-commerce site where customers can shop products featured on the tour.

"The Walmart Style Tour is the first time we are creating this kind of experience for fashion and we can’t wait to bring it to communities across the country at events we know our customers are already planning to attend," said Kim Tunick, group director, brand experiences and partnerships, Walmart. "We’re elevating our shopping experience and bringing the style, the styling tips, and fun right to them."

At each stop on the tour, the retailer will offer a crafted selection of Walmart Finds, a curated assortment of recommended items shared on a blog as well as social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram. In an omnichannel extension of the promotion, all items will be shoppable via QR codes.

The tour stops will also include activities and features such as:

Style tips & tricks: On-site stylists will share fall fashion tips and tricks with attendees.

Free color analysis: Customers can get a free color analysis to find out which seasonal shades fit them the best.

Personalized giveaways: Personalized items such lipsticks, totes and candles will be distributed to attendees free of charge.

In addition, at all Style Tour stops, Walmart will promote its private label fashion assortment, such as its Scoop and Free Assembly lines (In March 2021, the retailer hired Brandon Maxwell as creative director for Free Assembly and Scoop.).
