Walmart continues its deeper dive into health care with the opening of its third freestanding facility devoted to health-and-wellness.
The new Walmart Health is located in Loganville, Georgia. The format, which debuted last September, in Dallas, Georgia, features an array of primary and urgent care, dental, hearing and counseling services, and promises low and transparent pricing regardless of insurance services. A second location opened in January, in Calhoun, Georgia.
Walmart Health will unveil a new prototype in Springdale, Arkansas on June 24. It will have a smaller footprint that will “allow us to test a different layout and services as we work to meet Americans’ need for affordable, transparent and accessible care,” said Sean Slovenski, senior VP Health & Wellness, Walmart U.S., in a blog on the company’s website.
In addition, Walmart Health will continue to expand with new locations opening in Georgia this year.
“Our existing Walmart Health Centers in Dallas and Calhoun, Georgia, have created a real impact in the months since opening,” said Slovenski. “Patients have responded favorably to our low, transparent pricing for key healthcare services, regardless of insurance status. They’re also appreciative of the convenience of our facilities that offer primary and urgent care, labs, x-ray and diagnostics, counseling, dental, optical and hearing services all in one central facility."
