An East Coast specialty grocer is opening two new stores, including its first in the Keystone State.

Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace plans to open a new location in Moorestown, N.J., and another in King of Prussia, Pa., — it’s first location in the state. Both stores will open the third quarter of 2027.

“Pennsylvania has been part of our growth plans for a while, and King of Prussia is a great place for us to start,” said Carl DelPrete, CEO and co-founder of Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace. “It’s a strong market, and it gives us an opportunity to introduce Uncle Giuseppe’s to a lot of new customers.”

The company, which is based in Melville, N.Y., has been successful in New Jersey — the catalyst that encouraged the company to move deeper into The Garden State.

“New Jersey has been very good to us, and we continue to see opportunities there,” DelPrete added. “Moorestown gives us a chance to reach customers in South Jersey and continue growing in a market where people already know Uncle Giuseppe’s. We think it’s a very good fit for what we do.”

Uncle Giuseppe’s upcoming expansion complements the company’s two newest stores: one in Greenvale, N.Y., that opened this month, and another in Levittown, N.Y., expected to open by the end of the year.

All Uncle Giuseppe’s stores feature an Italian marketplace experience. Upon entering the store, customers navigate displays of fresh-baked bread, homemade pastas, artisan cheeses and pastries. A butcher is available to cut meats to order, and bakers and chefs work throughout the day preparing meals from scratch and other specialty and artisan crafted foods.

In addition to carrying a full product line of natural and organic products, Uncle Giuseppe’s also features deli, bakery, meat, seafood, produce, grocery and customer service departments.

The chain currently operates 13 locations across New York and New Jersey.
