Things Remembered keeps productivity in mind

A specialty gift retailer is optimizing workforce performance with artificial intelligence (AI).

Things Remembered is deploying the Workforce Dimensions solution from Kronos Inc. to maximize workforce productivity with a modern user experience. Analytics embedded within Workforce Dimensions and supported by the Kronos AIMEE enterprise AI engine provides supervisors with real-time workforce data to enable strategic decision-making. Equipped with relevant data, supervisors can quickly identify trends and predict outcomes related to engagement, performance, and employee fatigue.

For example, greater visibility into attendance metrics is designed to help supervisors identify and address absence trends weeks or even months before they would otherwise be recognized. Proactive compliance functionality is intended to assist supervisors in tracking complex compliance requirements and mitigating potential risks, alerting them days before a potential issue surfaces so they may take preventative action.

In addition, data-driven automation is provided to enable supervisors to schedule associates based on demand, streamline payroll processing, and complete routine workflows such as time-off requests, timecard approvals, and shift-swaps – in real time using one-click actions.

On the associate side, employees can use their smartphones to perform one-click actions such as requesting time off, checking time-off balances, viewing schedules, and comparing hours week-over-week, without manager assistance. Self-service kiosks also enable associates to complete these tasks. Employees are automatically notified if they forget to clock in or out of a shift.

As a result, Things Remembered hopes to provide supervisors with more time to support employees and prioritize customer orders, and allow associates to more efficiently and effectively meet surging demand for home delivery and in-store pickup options. A flexible licensing model enables Things Remembered to increase seasonal workforce capacity as needed during peak times.

“Over the years, we’ve tailored our omnichannel strategy to optimize operations – not only to drive greater productivity, but to create positive workplace experiences that both inspire our full- and part-time associates and motivate seasonal workers to return year after year,” said Rich Farruggia, VP, HR, Things Remembered. “Our decision to onboard Things Remembered to Workforce Dimensions was made to keep pace with modern expectations around the future of work in retail.”
