eBay is giving online rival Amazon a run for money when it comes to attracting more budget-conscious shoppers.
The online marketplace introduced an “Under $10” section on its website. The new section features “millions” of new items in hundreds of categories. There is no bidding required, and all items qualify for free shipping, according to
eBay.
The section features merchandise across multiple categories, including fashion, electronics, home & garden, sporting goods, lifestyle & entertainment, and automotive accessories.
“With Under Ten, we have made it easy and fun for shoppers to browse our unbeatable variety and choice of inventory at great value for money," said Murray Lambell, VP of U.K. Trading at eBay.
The move takes a direct swing at online rival Amazon, which launched a $10 and Under section last month. The online giant features merchandise such as T-shirts, earrings, hats, socks, phone cases, among other items. Product searches can also be filtered by category, including men’s and women’s clothing, electronics, home decor, gifts, and more.
Both companies’ efforts are helping them compete around discount shopping apps, like Wish.
