  • CIG acquires Garden Park in Lewisville, Texas

    Los Angeles — CIG Retail Properties has acquired the 170,739-sq.-ft. Garden Park Shopping Center in the Dallas, Texas, suburb of Lewisville, for an undisclosed amount. CBRE’s private capital group in Dallas negotiated the sale on behalf of the seller, a special servicer.

    World Gym and Thrift City anchor the center. The tenant line-up includes Precision Sports Nutrition, Edward Jones, The UPS Store and Lewisville Soccer.

  • Target plans Hawaii store

    Minneapolis - Target plans to open a new store in the city of Kahului on the island of Maui in Hawaii, in March 2015. The store will be located as part of the Pu‘unēnē Shopping Center.

    This will be the first Target store in Maui.

  • Mid-America: Chicagoland retail development up

    Oakbrook Terrace, Ill. — Shopping Center development in Chicagoland has improved significantly in recent years. Activity showed a 98.7% increase in total sq. ft. from 2012 to 1013, according to the “Chicagoland 2014 Shopping Center Report” just issued by Mid-America Real Estate Corp.

    In 2013, owners developed approximately 2.26 million sq. ft., compared to 1.14 million sq. ft. in 2012.

  • Conn’s announces four new stores

    The Woodlands, Texas -- Conn’s announced the opening of four Conn’s HomePlus stores, with locations in Albuquerque, N.M.; Amarillo, Texas; Chandler, Arizona; and Shreveport, Louisiana.

    The new HomePlus store format showcases furniture and mattresses in addition to the leading brands and the latest technologies in consumer electronics and home appliances.  

  • 14 new tenants to Towne Centre at Laurel

    Owings Mills, Md. — Towne Centre at Laurel in Laurel, Md., has announced leases for 14 new retailers and restaurants. The $130 million, 400,000-sq.-ft. mixed-use redevelopment of the former Laurel Mall is now 85% leased and under construction. The first phase is scheduled to open in March with the reopening of a new 70,000-sq.-ft. Burlington Coat Factory.

    The remainder of the project will open this fall, featuring Regal Cinemas, Sports Authority and the first Harris Teeter in Prince George’s County, along with the following 14 new tenants:

  • CBRE names Grantham president GCS, Americas

    Los Angeles — CBRE Group has promoted Curt Grantham to president, global corporate services, Americas. In his new post, Grantham will oversee client management and account operations as well as all GCS regional leadership in the Americas. He will report to Jim Wilson, global chief operating officer, GCS, CBRE.

    In his new position, Grantham will join CBRE’s Americas operations management board. He will continue to serve on CBRE’s GCS executive committee.

  • JLL to manage Shops Around Lenox

    Chicago — Jones Lang LaSalle has announced that the firm has been retained to manage Shops Around Lenox, a 124,409-sq.-ft. open-air center off Peachtree Road in the Buckhead area of Atlanta. The property’s tenant mix includes Crate & Barrel, Lululemon Athletica, Swank, Deka, Ona Atlanta, Paper Source, Suit Supply, Seven Lamps and Bhojanic.

  • CBRE brokers Oak Grove Plaza sale in Dallas suburb

    Los Angeles — CBRE’s national retail investment group has arranged the sale of Oak Grove Plaza, a 120,491-sq.-ft. retail center anchored by Kroger Signature, to Chicago-based LaSalle Investment Management.

    CBRE marketed the property, which is located in the Dallas suburb of Sachse, Texas, on behalf of Invesco Advisers.
