  • Walmart combines physical and digital in new Neighborhood Market store

    New York — Walmart continues its building boom in Northwest Arkansas, opening a Neighborhood Market store just a few miles from the chain’s headquarters in Bentonville. During the past few years, company has added new Sam’s Clubs, Supercenters, a Walmart To Go convenience store, a grocery pick up facility and nearly 10 new Neighborhood Markets to the area.   While adding another new Neighborhood Market isn’t a huge deal, but the store’s location, its layout and some of the signing elements are noteworthy.

  • Report: Publix may be eyeing smaller-store format

    LAKELAND, Fla. — Publix Super Markets may be considering opening a smaller-store format, according to a report in The Gainesville Sun.

  • Restoration Hardware launching new store concept, RH Modern

    CORTE MADERA, California — Restoration Hardware is going modern. The luxury home furnishings retailer is introducing a new store concept called RH Modern this fall. The company officially unveiled its new format in a video on its website.

    RH introduced the concept on the same day that it posted first-quarter earnings and sales that topped analysts estimates and also boosted its annual guidance.

  • RPAI acquires Woodinville Plaza in Seattle

    Oak Brook, Ill. — Retail Properties of America, Inc. (RPAI) has closed on the acquisition of Woodinville Plaza located in the Seattle Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA). The property was acquired on an unencumbered basis for a gross purchase price of $35.3 million.

  • Shoe Carnival to expand with new, smaller-store concept

    EVANSVILLE, Indiana — Shoe Carnival plans to launch a complementary, small-market store concept. The new format will be approximately 5,000 sq.ft. or half the size of a current Shoe Carnival store.  
  • Nordstrom to open store in 2018 in Carlsbad, California

    Seattle -- Nordstrom announced plans to open a full-line store in a new open-air retail promenade to be built by Caruso Affiliated, in Carlsbad, California.

    The 124,000-sq.-ft. store is scheduled to open fall 2018 and will be the fifth Nordstrom full-line store in the greater San Diego area. The company opened its first Nordstrom in San Diego at Fashion Valley in 1981.

  • Regency Centers integrates and scales applications with Intermedia Private Cloud

    Jacksonville, Fla. - Regency Centers, a national owner, operator and developer of 321 grocery-anchored retail centers, needed a secure, dedicated platform that would integrate Symantec LiveOffice, Cisco Unity Connection and eMailSignature with its email solution. The company selected Intermedia Private Cloud to integrate and scale its business applications, thus enabling growth.
