  • Tri-Land Properties names Paul R. Sevenich as VP

    Westmont, Ill. -- Tri-Land Properties said that it has named Paul R. Sevenich as VP of leasing. Sevenich brings 30-plus years’ experience in retail real estate development and redevelopment, acquisitions, retail center positioning, value enhanced leasing, merchandising strategies and financial analysis of the Midwest and the South. Some of the companies he has worked for include CSM Corporation, Kraus-Anderson, CBL & Associates and General Growth.

  • Recently renovated Parkway Pointe changes ownership

    Atlanta -- FCA Partners announced the acquisition of Parkway Pointe, a 196,664-sq.-ft. retail center located in Atlanta. The property was purchased for $43.9 million from Stockbridge Capital on June 25.  

  • Miami Beach’s eight-block landmark shopping district expansion announced

    Miami -- Terranova, Lincoln Road shopping district’s largest property owner, released redevelopment plans to activate Lincoln Lane North by developing 723 North Lincoln Lane and 801 Lincoln road buildings. These buildings are part of Miami, Florida’s eight-block retail, dining and entertainment district located blocks from Miami Beaches.   

  • Chick-fil-A to make Manhattan debut in a big — and green — way

    New York -- Chick-fil-A is set to open its largest location to date in one of the nation’s busiest cities.

    The quick-serve restaurant chain will open its first freestanding location in New York City, at the corner of West 37th Street and 6th Avenue in the Garment District, on Oct. 3. The three-story, 5,000-sq.-ft. restaurant will be Chick-fil-A's largest in the country and will be independently owned and operated by local resident Oscar Fittipaldi.

  • Two grocery-anchored shopping centers acquired

    Cincinnati -- Phillips Edison Grocery Center REIT II, Inc. announced it has acquired Plano Market Street in Plano, Texas, and The West Acres Shopping Center in Fresno, California, for a collective $57.1 million, totaling more than 253,038 sq. ft.

    Plano Market Street is a 169,624 sq. ft. grocery store-anchored shopping center in Plano, Texas, just outside Dallas. The center is 94.2% leased, anchored by Market Street and retailers World of Beer, Tony & Guy, and the Little Gym.

  • Starbucks and Latin America: a perfect match

    Panama City -- Starbucks Coffee Company has entered its 15th Latin America market.

    The coffee giant — together with Premium Restaurants of America, its long-term strategic licensing partner in Central America — has opened its first store in Panama, making it Starbucks 15th market in Latin America and 67th worldwide.

  • Welco signs Fairway Market for Brooklyn center

    New Rochelle, N.Y. - Welco Realty Inc., an XTeam partner, has signed an approximately a 50,000-sq.-ft. lease with supermarket chain Fairway Market at Georgetowne Shopping Center in Brooklyn. New York.

    Welco represented both the landlord, Astoria Holding Corp., and tenant in this transaction.   

  • ‘Whole Foods for pets’ retailer expanding in Chicago

    New York -- The retailer whose customers often call it the “Whole Foods for pets” is expanding in the Chicago area as it looks to leverage what has become a $58 billion industry.

    Kriser's Natural Pet is bringing the natural pet movement to the west suburbs of Chicago with a grand opening in Naperville on Aug. 15-16. A second grand opening will take place in Northbrook on Aug. 29-30.
