  • Ross Dress for Less opens new North Carolina store Oct. 10

    Ross Dress for Less will open a new store in Elizabeth City, North Carolina on Oct. 10. The 18,000-sq.-ft.store is located in Tanglewood Pavilions.

    The opening is part of the retailer’s 2015 expansion program, totaling approximately 70 new locations during the year.

  • Painting with a Twist rides new trend

    The “paint ‘n’ sip” phenomenon, whereby friends, neighbors, and colleagues come together to paint, drink and relax, is showing up signs of slowing down and that’s good news for a Louisiana-based company.

    Painting with a Twist, which bills itself as the original and largest paint-and-sip franchise, has opened more than one new location each week this year, and is on track to reach its goal of 100 new locations in 2015.

  • Ross Dress for Less opens 274th California store Oct. 10

    Ross Dress for Less will open a new store in Redlands, California on Oct. 10. The 24,000-sq.-ft. relocation is in Mountain Grove at Citrus Plaza, and is being moved from its previous location at Tri-City Center.

    With this location, Ross will operate 274 stores in its largest state. The opening is part of the retailer’s 2015 expansion program, totaling approximately 70 new locations during the year.

  • Tanger closes on sale of five centers

    Tanger Factory Outlet Centers has closed on the sale of five non-core outlet centers for a total cash sales price of $150.7 million.

    The five properties sold are located in Barstow, California; Kittery, Maine (two properties); Tuscola, Illinois; and West Branch, Michigan.

  • SuperTarget previews updated look

    Target is showing off an updated look at its redone store in Minnetonka, Minnesota.

    The remodeled SuperTarget is serving as a testing ground such overall store updates as bolder, more playful signage, and new displays and for new concepts in the grocery area.

    The chain is also putting the spotlight on its “Made to Matter — Handpicked by Target” collection of healthy-living brands, with more prominent signs on the ends of aisles.

  • J.Crew Mercantile to open first-to-market store in Charlotte, N.C.

    Charlotte, N.C. -- EDENS announced that J.Crew Mercantile will be joining Park Road Shopping Center located in Charlotte, North Carolina. This location will be the first in the Charlotte market and is expected to open in early 2016.

    J.Crew launched J.Crew Mercantile earlier this year, featuring a collection of value-driven merchandise with the brand's classic signature style.

  • Federal Realty and partners acquire Shops at Sunset Place for $110 million

    Miami -- Federal Realty Investment Trust, along with partners Grass River Property and The Comras Company, acquired 85% interest in The Shops at Sunset Place -- a 515,000 sq. ft. mixed-use center in South Miami, Florida for $110 million.

    The transaction includes the assumption of an existing $70.8 million mortgage with an interest rate of 5.6% and maturity date of September 2020.
