  • CVS to shorten length of customer receipts

    Woonsocket, R.I. -- CVS Caremark plans to shorten the length of in-store receipts members of its ExtraCare loyalty program receive by about 25%. In a recent Facebook posting, CVS announced that in response to customer complaints it had found a way to shorten the length of receipts without reducing the amount of ExtraCare rewards and savings offered on them.

    In addition, next year CVS will allow ExtraCare members to receive all rewards and savings directly to their card. Currently only select offers can be stored paperlessly on ExtraCare cards.

  • Walgreens enters clinical collaboration agreement with Orlando Health

    Deerfield, Ill. - Walgreen Co. and Orlando Health, a comprehensive not-for-profit health care organization based in Orlando, Fla., today announced a clinical collaboration that will provide coordinated and expanded healthcare services in central Florida.

  • Whole Foods offers Starbucks Evolution products

    Seattle -- Starbucks Coffee Company is making its Evolution Fresh juice and Evolution Harvest premium brands available at Whole Foods Market stores across the United  States. This expansion advances Evolution Fresh growth plans to be in approximately 8,000 Starbucks and grocery locations by the end of the year.

  • Sears names winner in app developer challenge

    Hoffman Estates, Ill. -- “The Chore Score,” an app that allows parents to create chore lists for their kids with rewards that can be redeemed at Sears stores or Sears.com, won the recent Sears Startup & Developer Challenge. The contest, held for three days, featured more than 150 participants using the Sears development API to create apps that would strengthen the experience of the Sears Shop Your Way membership program.

  • Levi’s in management shuffle

    San Francisco -- Levi’s announced several management changes in an effort to drive innovative product and consumer engagement campaigns around the globe.

    Jennifer Sey, the current senior VP of e-commerce, will become the global chief marketing officer for the Levi’s brand.

  • QVC makes executive appointments

    West Chester, Pa. -- QVC promoted Alex Miller to the position of senior VP of digital commerce and Dave Caputo to the position of senior VP of TV production and operations.

    Miller will now be responsible for the customer experience across QVC's web, mobile, tablet and social platforms.

  • CVS combats drug abuse with data analysis

    Woonsocket, R.I. – CVS Caremark is evaluating data on prescriptions filled at CVS/pharmacy to identify providers with extreme patterns of prescribing high-risk drugs. Providers who cannot offer a reasonable explanation for these patterns have their controlled substance dispensing operations suspended.

  • Big Lots board retains compensation committee chair

    Columbus, Ohio – The board of directors of Big Lots, Inc. has retained director Russell Solt. Solt will also continue to serve as chairman of the compensation committee, which is composed entirely of independent non-executive directors.
