Target to hire for 30,000 supply chain roles

Target is hiring 30,000 supply chain workers.

Target Corp. is the latest retailer looking to beef up its supply chain ranks.

The retailer said it adding 30,000 new supply chain roles for the holiday season and beyond. The new hiring initiative comes one month after Walmart announced a similar move.

Our supply chain team members play a crucial role in Target’s day-to-day operations, including moving our products from suppliers to our stores to keep our shelves stocked,” Target stated.  From hiring managers to warehouse and operational support staff, each of these new positions will have a direct role in delivering joy to our guests.

In September, Target announced plans to hire 100,000 seasonal employees at its stores nationwide — about 30,000 less than the past two years. Many of the recruits will have the opportunity to stay onboard after the holidays are over.

Target has been enhancing the benefits it offers employees. In August, the company announced a debt-free educational assistance program.
