Taco Bueno launches drone delivery in Texas with Zipline
A regional Mexican food quick service retailer is introducing drone delivery in a North Texas metro area.
Taco Bueno is partnering with Zipline, an American robotics company that designs, manufactures and operates what it says is the world’s largest autonomous delivery system, to provide drone delivery to select addresses in Watauga, Texas.
Customers can order by downloading the Zipline app, entering their address, browsing the marketplace, and placing an order. Once prepared by Taco Bueno, a Zipline drone delivers the meal directly to their doorstep.
“The drone-delivery partnership with Zipline is just one more example of the work we are doing to combine the heritage of Taco Bueno with innovations across products, service, technology, and customer experience,” said Taco Bueno director of marketing and innovation Dani Perales. “This is just one more step in our goal to make Taco Bueno the number one choice for Tex-Mex food, wherever you are.”
After successful early results from the pilot program, Taco Bueno plans to expand drone delivery to its Frisco and Mesquite, Texas locations by the end of May, with an additional six to seven stores planned before the end of 2026.

In less than a year since commencing operations there, Zipline says it now delivers thousands of orders a day to customers across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, and is continuing to grow every week.
Other recently onboarded restaurant brand partners include national chain Hawaiian Bros. and local retailers Cheesesteak House, Supreme Donuts, and Amelia’s Cocina Mexicana. The company says it will continue adding new restaurants and partners to its drone delivery network each week.
