Spirit Halloween will make its movie debut in the fall.
It’s only mid-July but Spirit Halloween is preparing to open nationwide.
The nation's largest Halloween retailer will hold a special grand opening event at its flagship at Harbor Square Plaza, in Egg Harbor Township, N.J., on July 30. (Additional stores will open soon after.)
The flagship event will feature the exclusive world premiere of the trailer for the upcoming “Spirit Halloween: The Movie,” with appearances from cast members Donovan Colan, Dylan Martin Frankel, and Jaiden J. Smith.
The trailer will be shown every 15 minutes, starting at 9:15 a.m. The retailer said the first 200 customers will score a “frighteningly good” swag bag prior to the official store opening.
“Spirit Halloween: The Movie” is scheduled for an October release. It takes place in a Spirit Halloween store that appears in a deserted strip mall. The store is haunted by an angry evil spirit who has possessed Spirit’s creepy animatronic characters.
"The official opening of Spirit Halloween stores is always special, but there is an extra buzz in the air this year with the news of our first-ever feature-length film," said Steven Silverstein, CEO of Spirit Halloween. "We are thrilled to keep the momentum and welcome super fans from around the country to be among the first to shop the 2022 collection, and help us officially launch the Halloween season earlier than ever."
Spirit Halloween, which is owned by Spencer Gifts, operates more than 1,425 locations in strip centers and malls across North America. Specializing in costumes, décor and accessories for children, teens and adults, Spirit stores offer a Halloween experience that includes an exclusive line of animatronics.
