Bashas’ is streamlining store operations with a cloud-based enterprise POS platform.

Arizona-based Bashas’ will deploy NCR Emerald, a cloud-enabled, subscription-based enterprise POS platform, to simplify store workflows such as POS, loyalty and promotions, merchandising, integrated payments, and self-service. Seeking to stay competitive with big-box retail rivals, Bashas’ wants to effectively contend on price while maintaining its specials and loyalty rewards. The deployment includes the complete NCR Emerald solution of software, hardware and services.

Based on a cloud-enabled, API-first infrastructure, NCR Emerald integrates with other applications in the retailer enterprise and promotes consistency of capabilities across physical stores and digital channels.

“NCR has upped its game with this all-in-one solution, ready out-of-the-box and easy to connect our store operations,” said Jim Buhr, CIO for Bashas’. “NCR Emerald has the right product architecture to help grocery retailers like us grow and compete. Equally important, the NCR team has demonstrated true partnership and commitment to us as a valued client.”

Northgate Market, which operates 40 grocery stores in southern California, also recently implemented the NCR Emerald platform. The retailer hopes to streamline areas of its operations including POS, loyalty and promotions, merchandising, integrated payments, and self-service.

Bashas’ operates 10 stores in Arizona.
