Customers at Lumen Field have new frictionless shopping options.

The home field of the Seattle Seahawks NFL pro football franchise, which became the first NFL stadium to implement both Amazon’s Just Walk Out checkout-free shopping technology and Amazon One palm-based entry and payment solution technologies in a single store in August 2022, is launching new deployments.

The Seahawks Pro Shop Outlet store at Lumen Field offers an assortment of team gear at reduced prices, including hats, shirts, jerseys, and souvenirs. Customers can pick up a hat, t-shirt, jersey, foam finger, or other apparel item, and then leave through an exit gate, even while wearing their purchases.

Once a customer picks the item(s) they want, they use their credit card or hover their palm over an Amazon One device to exit. When they pass through the exit gate, the credit card they used or linked to their Amazon One ID will be charged. If they do not purchase anything, they do not need to insert a card or hover their palm to exit.

In addition to the Seahawks Pro Shop Outlet, Lumen Field will also install Amazon's Just Walk Out technology and Amazon One palm payment solution at four existing concession locations, including Tutta Bella, two Local Dogs locations, and Pizza Hut. With this latest deployment, Lumen Field now has the most Just Walk Out locations of any sports venue in the world.

"Fan feedback on our spaces powered by Just Walk Out and Amazon One has been overwhelmingly positive, so we are excited to build on that success," said Zach Hensley, Seahawks VP of operations and GM, Lumen Field. "Fanovation is at the core of what we do, and we are proud to bring Just Walk Out technology to our outlet store so our guests can spend more time enjoying the game."

Sports arenas implement Just Walk Out

A number of other facilities serving as the home of professional sports teams have opened stores featuring Amazon Just Walk Out. For example, in March 2023, Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas (home field of the Texas Rangers pro baseball team) opened two convenience stores equipped with Just Walk Out and Amazon One.

Bridgestone Arena, the home arena of the Nashville Predators professional hockey team, recently started leveraging Amazon technology in a new cashierless convenience store. Fiserv Arena, home arena of the Milwaukee Bucks professional basketball franchise, provides a checkout-free shopping option with Amazon technology.

And Crypto.com Arena, the home stadium of the NBA’s Los Angeles Lakers and L.A. Clippers, the NHL’s L.A. Kings and the WNBA’s Los Angeles Sparks, opened two new “grab and go” locations equipped with the technology in October 2022.
