Salomon has made its New York City debut with a pop-up in the SoHo section of Manhattan.

The outdoor performance lifestyle brand has unveiled its first U.S. retail space dedicated to its fast-growing Sportstyle footwear collection. The SoHo shop will be open through January 2024. It will serve as a test in the U.S. as the brand plans to expand to five physical stores in 2025, with the first being a permanent space in New York City.

“New York has been a global cultural hub for decades, and its community has long known and adopted Salomon,” said Steve Doolan, president of the Americas, Salomon. “Most recently that connectivity has been to some of its most vaunted heritage styles, which are seen everyday on the streets of New York City. Seeing that adoption was motivation to speak to and connect directly through a store.”

In addition to the new pop-up, Salomon has one other U.S. location, an outlet store next to its U.S. headquarters in Ogden, Utah.

The 3,175-sq.-ft. store is designed to allow customers  the opportunity to experience the full scope of what Salomon’s offerings — from premium footwear, apparel and gear for running and hiking to winter sports equipment. It also features a full dedicated to the Sportstyle footwear line.

In addition, the store has an “innovation wall” that highlights company’s research and development achievements. Other features include a space for 2D foot scanning and a personal shopper for mountain sports enthusiasts.

Salomon was founded in 1947 the French Alps. It is now part of Amer Brands, which is based in Helsinki, Finland. Its portfolio includes Wilson, Atomic and Arc’teryx.
