  • Northgate González Markets purchases property for store relocation

    Newport Beach, Calif. -- X Team International announced that partner Strategic Retail Advisors negotiated the purchase of a 104,423-sq.-ft. property at La Habra Towne Centre located in La Habra, California, on behalf of Northgate Gonzalez Markets.

    La Habra Town Centre is situated on 9.2 acres and is currently home to CVS, Petco and Jack in the Box. Nelson Wheeler and Blaine Bush of SRA represented Northgate Gonzalez Markets. Jones Lang LaSalle represented the seller.

    New York City is the best city for shopping in the world, according to a report by Expedia.co.uk, followed by Berlin and Los Angeles. While New York has long been a retail hub, the Expedia study, “The World’s 25 Best Shopping Cities,” also contains a few surprises — Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), for example, is ranked No. 5.   • Passco Companies acquires center for $15.8 million

    Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. -- Passco Companies has acquired Day Creek Village located in in Rancho Cucamonga, California for $15.8 million.

    Day Creek Village is a neighborhood shopping center in the second largest submarket in California’s Inland Empire market. The 25,002 sq. ft. center is 100% leased and is shadow-anchored by a Ralph’s grocery store, and currently has 14 tenants, including Starbucks, Wells Fargo, Super Cuts, Subway, and Orange Theory Fitness.

  • Hammond Aire Plaza in Baton Rouge, Louisiana sold

    Baton Rouge -- JLL’s Capital Markets experts announced the firm has closed the sale of Hammond Aire Plaza located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on behalf of Kimco Realty. The asset was purchased by a joint venture partnership between DRA Advisors and Viking Partners.

    Managing director Margaret Caldwell, VP Diane Roberts and associate Eric Spencer led the JLL team on the transaction.

  • Catalog/online retailer seeks to grow brick-and-mortar presence

    Sundance is gearing up for major retail expansion.

    The lifestyle apparel, art and home furnishings brand, founded by Robert Redford in 1969, has long operated a successful catalog and e-commerce site, along with a handful of physical stores. But in remarks at the recent ICR investor conference, CEO Matey Erdos said the company is planning to open up to 150 locations in the coming years.

  • Inland acquires grocery-anchored Marketplace at Tech Center

    Newport News, Va. -- Inland Real Estate Income Trust announced the acquisition of the approximately 210,000-sq. ft. Marketplace at Tech Center, a newly constructed grocery-anchored power center, in Newport News, Virginia. Mark Cosenza, VP of Inland Real Estate Acquisitions facilitated the purchase of the property on behalf of Inland Income Trust.
